Hi-Fi RUSH |OT| The Evil Ry-thm

No doubt.

Even he couldn’t resist saying it.

Finally beat the game and it’s an amazing experience. I liked how the music synced with the game and the combat was a lot of fun. However, I wish i was better at timing though, but damn this was an experience. The game is a 8.5/10 and game lost a few points from me due to not enjoying some of the boss fights

You can also use the grapple to get close to every enemy.

Ah yes, forgot to mention that too

Completed this twice now, I haven’t done a second playthrough so soon like this in ages. Phenomenal game :slightly_smiling_face:.

The only thing I do wonder is what this would be like if the Xbox controller had haptics like the DualSense.

I think it would really suit this game, I do hope Xbox bring this feature to their controller soon.

I think I’ve mentioned it the other day, but haptics would’ve provided a much better experience imo. I think haptics would’ve improved performances.

Currently on track 3. Visually, game looks excellent from environments to cut scenes to animations, it’s all very well done. Vibrant, colorful, a pleasure to play through. Combat and gameplay is really good and includes platforming. Voice acting is solid and the music though is underwhelming to me thus far. I was expecting more heavy metal music and not really doing it for me two tracks in. Story and characters are solid thus far and the boss fights were really good. I will see how it goes. I started on hard difficulty but now playing on normal difficulty as of track 3. I know how many tracks (chapters) there are in the game and must admit that it’s longer than expected. Two tracks took me over 5 hours to get through. Of course, im not rushing through the game and exploring in the process. I think the platforming is the standout for me gameplay wise. Still very early though. Not even 25% through the game yet so will see how the rest goes.

Unfortunately im going to have to stop for a bit. Gane on xcloud while playsble isnt the best so gonna wait until i can play on console again.

I haven’t played the game yet, but does the ending lend itself to a sequel or a continuation of some kind?

Blurred in case you don’t want to know.

Simple answer:

Noo

Explanation:

No not really, you defeat Spectra and then they say they can still detect Spectra signals, which you have to go investigate however these are just the challenge rooms (post-game).

Having killed all the leadership Chai and the gang all take over the leadership of Vandelay with Roxanne Vandelay.

As much as I enjoyed the game I don’t know where they would take a sequel.

I think there is another ending once you clear all the signals.

Yeah you’re right, it’s possible with that. I just don’t know how many people will ever complete them all

there is a second Spectra which is disabled (I won’t say how) and Peppermint suggests there may be more to come

I love this game! I really don’t complete a lot of games these days what with having a toddler, new kid on the way, career, house etc. it takes a lot for me to allocate the free time I do have to a game. I haven’t finished it yet, but I absolutely will.

I wanted to throw in two things I dislike though:

  • The nodes… hate that part. It’s so rhythm specific and I have literally none. Outside of these sequences the game is pretty forgiving by allowing you to combo and block in other ways than just following the rhythm. It was the only time I’ve been frustrated playing because playing on normal it seemed much harder than the rest of the game.

  • I really wanted good achievement art with this game. It’s such a good looking game! I figured I’d do a Hi-Fi Rush Xbox background and pop into my achievements and it’s got the MOST generic achievement art. It’s very disappointing when 1. The game is gorgeous. 2. It’s a first party game and that’s a core functionality of the console. I know I can get one online somewhere but I shouldn’t have to!

Amazing game though. Crazy that’s the best I can come up with for reasonable critiques.

Taking my time with Hi-Fi Rush, so just got pass the Mimosa boss fight and, I have to say once you have all your partner attacks and, get used to spamming them as soon as they’re ready they make fights go super quick.

I have just finished the game on hard difficulty and it was fantastic. I had a constant smile on my face and I enjoyed every aspect of it. Couldnt really master the timing for parrying but still the games combat is heaps of fun.

Never really expected I would enjoy this game to the extent I did.The colorful world combined with fun dialogue really works in this game without ever being cringe.

A must play game

Wait for the sequel…

An open-world game with every element on display synced to the beat would be absolutely bananas.

Started the game on Thursday afternoon and finished late last night - what a great game!

Unique colourful stages with no repetitive moments, great boss fights, fluid combat, nice exploration and so visually pleasing. Even though I have no sense of rhythm to save my life, that did not deter me from enjoying this game.

Will definitely start a second playthrough to mop up some of the achievements. Though it is a baffling decision from Tango that you have to do five playthroughs for completion on every difficulty  Hope they fix that.

In a game filled with fun and distinct boss fights, which one is your favourite?

I am very partial to Korsica’s boss fight. Really enjoyed the flow of that battle.
