worse than “not my Chief” is the “they’re going woke” crowd, already saying stuff like “it’s like Last Jedi” 
I also saw complaints about forced diversity, lol. Eh, Halo games have always had a pretty diverse cast of characters…I mean…yeah.
I didn’t watch many criticism videos about it, but my only one right now is what looks to be the villain. I don’t know, she looks out of place there, overall look strikes me as cheesy, bit cringe. Why not have a intimidating Brute as villain? They are so dope in Halo Infinite.
But story wise this is not connected to the games and books?
It’s a new take on the universe, not canon in terms of games or books. Best route imo for a TV show.

Basically the female antagonist from the trailer easily defeats Chief. It will then be up to Quan Ah to save Chief, defeat her and save the world.
If they’re going to do Chief dirty like that then…well…

It’s not always “lies” it’s sometimes just misunderstood plot points or changed plots points passed along.
It’s where alot of the Mephisto from Wandavision stuff came from was speculation based on vague plot points that changed in post/reshoots.
