Halo |OT2| Forging Ahead

Since when Halo is not in top 50 of Xbox Most Played even?

I see it right next to MLB

Maybe in like 3 months and if they release nothing at all in that time.

Oh, I see. I did not realize that it changed the picture.

It’s at #23 here now…

Hasn’t even been a year yet, that’s tough.

Microsoft will have to start to promote Halo sooner or later again.

Promoting won’t help. They just gotta stay the course and nail the content in the coming months.

But of course. I meant promoting the game when the content will be there and on a regular basis. So people could come back knowing that the support will be stable.

Yeah, maybe twitch sponsored streams or something.

The best kind of promotion is the word of mouth kind, I think whatever the BR mode is, will be their last chance on cementing that Halo can still stand with the other shooters at the top.

I think Forge is gonna be the thing to do it - the footage coming out from the leaked builds suggests it’s gonna be massive and we’ve only seen what people have been able to do with short amounts of time in early builds. The biggest thing is there’s a node based scripting engine you can use to really start building things to work however you want - someone even made a functioning gravity gun in it. I think come this fall when co-op, forge beta and season 3 is lauching they can start going hard on pushing Halo and get in on the positive word of mouth once peoples forge creations start spreading.

Forge is an amazing thing and it’s community is the best in Halo IMO but it’s not something that will put Halo on top with Apex/Warzone/Fortnite. Only a BR supported by Certain Affinity/343, not the forge community will make that happen.

Forge is shaping up to be an amazing thing though, I don’t want to diminish it in any way. I can’t wait for it.

Yeah I think Forge’s impact on the general masses is a bit overstated. I can’t see how some custom maps are going to mean much in the grand scheme of things. It looks super cool, and there will probably be some awesome stuff built with it but outside of the hardcore base it’s a shrug as far as I can tell.

The battle royal and fun progression as well as more campaign and PvE content is what the game needs.

Oh, no biggy that you didn’t see it

Wishful thinking and being so excited to be able to tell us all that shit can make you miss obvious things

ā€œProperly launchingā€ a halo game gam us difficult because in the past those games launch with so much content due to crunch and crazy dev schedules.

How often did they win? Did they make it to the finals often? Were they one of the top teams?

FYI : There’s new drops on Twitch for watching 2 hours of the HCS Regional Finals in Mejico this weekend starting from today.

They didn’t

Top teams are Cloud9, Sentinels, Optic, EUnited and maybe 1 or 2 others like Faze, everyone else is easily a tier below any of them

That being said, no teams should really be pulling out this early into the series and is kind of a sign of the state of the scene right now, a lot of pros echo the same complaints as those of the casuals

I agree about no team should be leaving this soon, but honestly, I don’t think they’re coming back even if all the issues are addressed.
