This is a general statement: videogames are escapism and a hobby, but for the people that make them it’s part of their life but not all of their life. They are humans too, and they don’t and shouldn’t be expected to work 24/7 nor should they be expected to be emotionless robots; whether you like it or not, we are all affected by external factors and expecting people to be impervious to those factors (especially when they’re not actually working at the time) is selfish and juvenile. As a mod and staff member, I’d love for this place to be somewhere devs would want to interact, but in order for that to happen we have to have some grace and be better than the Twitter-verse discourse.
YES !! Finally !
Good stuff!
Oh…nevermind
HUGE no go, because of input lag
12v12 Slayer on it would be chaos and I would love it!
I share this opinion online and I just wanted to see what you guys thought of it.
But I was thinking that BTB should factor in your fireteam size and insert you into games based on that.
So that there are BTB maps that feature 8v8, & 12v12 modes/maps.
Launchsite and Behemoth would feature 8v8 & the rest of the usual BTB maps are 12v12.
So if you have 1 to 8 players in your fireteam, then you access every single BTB map. If you have more than 8 (which I’m sure occurs a lot but isn’t the most common) then you are restricted to the three 12v12 maps.
Now I personally think that 6v6 would be perfect for Launch Site and Behemoth, but 6v6 isn’t exactly BTB.
We’re live this Thursday, hit up the link above if you have any questions you’d like us to answer.
At this point I expect to be disappointed by Season 2 come May. I have no hopes that a significant amount of content will be added. Desync is probably still going to be an ever-present issue, progression system is still going to be a mess, challenges will remain as generic as ever and I doubt any inclusion of PvE challenges will happen.
We may get a Forge beta of sorts in May, but I personally am not creative or patient enough to build content in Forge and will rely on the community to produce content. As I’m sure 343i is hoping for as well.
I maxed out the battle pass in late December and finished up Tenrai this past week. I’m looking forward to the Tactical event(s) just as a means to have something to play for. Because right now I only play Infinite on Friday nights after I’ve taken an edible because it’s the only time I can play the game without getting into a fit of rage due to the ongoing bullshit the game throws at you.
It’s sad how quickly 343i lost all the goodwill it had accumulated after the server tests and release. They could have really maximized on it after their holiday break, but it seems the studio had zero content loaded and ready to go and are essentially pushing content as it’s made. And bug fixes and the shop isn’t the content I was hoping for.
Still paying everyday. Even replaying campaign. I can’t wait for content drops, but gameplay is amazing.
Edit : I mean, they should’nt rush updates just to appease some people. Just let them work. People will come back next season whenever it drops.
It’s here!
Season 2 will be titled “Lone Wolves”:
New free Fracture event armor core:
New arena map “Catalyst”, one new BTB map “Breaker”. New game modes too, Last Spartan Standing, FFA Elimination, Land Grab, and King of the Hill.
Breaker:
Catalyst:
Co-op is unfortunately going to be delayed due to issues, but will still hit during Season 2. Forge is on track for Season 3 and is currently in fighting. Tactical Ops will start next week. They mention how they are prioritizing the health of the team and getting a good rhythm, which meant that they started out slower than they would have liked.
Does it say anywhere how long Season 2 will be? I can’t find anything.
I hope we get some campaign stuff too this year.
No, but they will provide more information in April.
Aight. Ngl, this is not very exciting for me but I hope it works out.
new map for arena, new map for btb, 3 new modes, campaign co-op coming during. the base systems are excellent and well balanced. I don’t want new weapons or even new maps thrown in often, personally. I only want the best of the best, and once campaign co-op is in I’ll probably play through it five times again. I’m glad there I no delay on the start of season 2
Yeah, I added “for me”
I will for sure check it out and play some here and there, I have no interest in co-op or Forge though so kinda slow first year heh.
Yeah, the pve stuff will take longer to start coming out. So much more has to go into it than the PVP side of things.
Yeah, it’s unfortunate that pretty much all of the first year post launch has to be spent adding things that should have been there at launch. But that’s a dead horse we don’t need to beat, it is what it is heh.
Looking forward to some new maps though, that will be nice.
Yikes… one arena after waiting 6 months for more content. Nearly 20 years of team doubles, one of the defining game modes of halo and perfect for all these tiny maps, and now it’s just dead.
- imo this season needed 3 arena maps, 1 btb map. Ranked slayer and ranked doubles, infection and griffball. Not nearly enough content to bring people back or hold them over for 3-4 months.
At least it just last three months.
Season 2 won’t come out till at least start of august. That means the game will have only received 2 maps 8.5 months after the multiplayer came out. With no forge, no pve, no new guns or equipment.
I could go look through every halo games post release schedule and I won’t find one with half as little content added in that timeframe. I’d guess that the average halo to that point has gotten 6-9 maps.
If that’s all there is than it’s going to continue to be brutal looking at people talk about halo. And it just sucks because I wanted to bring my friends back into the game. I’m hoping they at least re-evaluate the minuscule amount of content in ranked for season 2.
