Yes, and that’s what I don’t understand, hence the ‘shaking fist at clouds’ element.
Thanks for the responses, folks. I wasn’t sure if I was missing something. Looks like I wasn’t
I’m not going to question the feedback that 343 has gotten and this progression system that clearly is catered to user feedback. There seems to be some excitement for it on the typical Halo YouTuber channels.
I will say though, I have something around a ridiculous 3,000 hours in Fortnite and Vigor, two other live service games, and they had nothing of the sort and the tens of millions of people that play those games didn’t mind. So it is interesting feedback with that in mind.
It really does sound like a legacy feature from previous Halo games and the fact that there are some unlocks tied to it seems pretty cool.
So I think it’s a cool feature and I’m not knocking it but it is interesting about how other lives service games have evolved beyond it.
I do hope they expand on it and factor in medals and weapon usage for more unlockables going forward, like previous Halo and Call of Duty titles. A solid gold AR skin for 100,000 AR kills would be pretty cool, for example.
Expecting a halo campaign every 2-3 years is out of touch with game design lol.
An unfinished campaign that was clearly meant to be continued in post launch DLC, Halo Infinite’s campaign at launch was great to me because it seemed like they set it up to continue the story in future DLCs, on it’s own it’s just another mediocre 343i campaign, an open world with barely anything interesting to do, they couldn’t even implement a diverse biome, some weather or some interesting locations and side missions… I can never forgive Microsoft for how they let 343i sink this once great franchise. I still don’t understand how it even got this bad, they had some massive red flags with the way Halo 4, 5 and MCC turned out under 343i and they still let 343i try to make a 3rd Halo game without any big changes at the studio first…
I don’t know how anyone can be fine with this, it’s just defending atrocious management and mediocrity.
What is that studio even going to be a year from now…
the campaign wasn’t unfinished just because it ends on a cliffhanger.
343 will likely add stuff locked behind the progression like they did with Halo 5, just hopefully quicker and with more variety because Halo 5 only got magnum skins. This way the progression will feel good for everyone.
Irrespective of your feelings about HI generally, how on earth does the game go from ‘great’ to ‘mediocre’ because it doesn’t get expanded? The game you played is the game you played.
Man, i will never understand how Halo fans have this much energy to be outraged. When will you guys finally reach the stage of Acceptance?
unfinished campaign ending on a cliffhanger, that sounds familiar.
The general consensus is that the campaign was great. I understand that everyone is entitled to their own opinions about it, but you are in the minority.
Halo 2?
Damn… Halo Infinite has dropped to #38 on Most played here in Sweden. All time low I think.
Water? Sweet!
Yeah water is huge imo.
That’s looks cool but for me I am getting the standard version of it the original master-chief in green
I’m looking forward to a Forge update that adds AI. It’ll breathe new life into the game.
