What do you think is wrong with the monetization? You don’t have to buy any of it you know…
They hire monetisation designers because they need actual devs to implement them. It’s not a bunch of suits doing it.
I’m not putting devs on a pedestal by acknowledging it’s not up to them.
It’s greedy in pricing and implementation. No, I don’t have to buy it, I can still be critical of it. Is that okay?
I’ll agree with you it’s not a perfectly good monetization system. I personally still don’t even completely understand it.
However there are more important issues with the game like progression being tied to challenges which not only demotivates players but also negatively influences how they play the game. I think if this addressed it will also help a bit with the cosmetics being earned at a faster rate if you like.
There’s also modes and playlists and maybe even maps, all are more integral to the game than dressing up your spartan.
Erhm of course it’s ok, why the attitude?
My problems lie with the boring progression, the battle passes should be more fleshed out and seasons should not be 6 months… That is boring. The events being spread out is a bit meh too. Sea of Thieves does it very well, they should give Rare a call.
The actual monetization is fine though, the battle pass is cheap and the rest are priced pretty standard?
Yes the only real issue is progression/rewards. The rest seems pretty industry standard.
Again all fixable seeing as how Gears 5 did so lol.
Put in close to 20 hours and I am loving ranked more than quickplay.
The game feels great to play. Tried with keyboard and mouse on my laptop and was not doing great, switched to controller and was doing a lot better (must be the aim assist masking my terrible skill)
The challenges are a bit more forgiving and I am definitely progressing quicker than when the game launched. I still feel that the score I earn and the medals I earn dont mean much as winning the game is not that important. The important thing is to progress the challenges and thats what matters for your progress.
The customization seem to be hidden away behind a lot of menus and I didnt find it easy to access as other titles. I wish the UI is a bit simpler (may be this is not the right word)
I did find that some times people use guns to complete the challenges rather than use something that good for the situation.
I still have a lot to understand in terms of abilities and guns and I still play as I would play vanilla halo.
I agree. I dont think I have a problem with battlepass
The challenges were much better this week than they were last week, but I still think they need to really keep refining them.
I’m ok with a challenge system, nothing inherently wrong with it, but if the challenges are too demanding or specific it can become frustrating. This is wildly accentuated by the way playlists operate at the moment. I imagine we will see a big decline in frustration once those game modes are separated.
I already only have one challenge left for the week (win 3 Total Control matches)
…but that also means I don’t have to play another second of fucking Fiesta Slayer
And for that…I give thanks, on this special day
I’ve finished mine. You get 1 more after finishing all the upcoming ones. I had to get 5 killing sprees in fiesta
“one more” turns into “one more” after you finish that “last one”. At least it did for me last week.
Well, I got until Tuesday
That’s the one I’m on, 1 down 4 to go.
I understand what people are saying about they’d rather pay 60 dollars. However, if you were paying 60$, this is not the game that you’d be getting.
Halo Infinite has always been designed to be a rebirth of the franchise that brings back the magic of Halo but at the same time appeals more broadly than ever. As part of that they designed it to compete with modern shooters that are massive in scale, and Halo is bigger than all of them. The only way to s design and support games this large in scale this day and age is with massive budgets and amounts of employees (like 25 times the employees needed when Halo 3 for example was built).
If they went with the old model, it would have been near impossible to deliver and budget for the game you’re playing right now.
People here bitching about cosmetic monetization. Game is f2p. Don’t buy that shit if you don’t want to.
Btw we had our Thanksgiving special pre-recorded YHMAH episode go live earlier today! Focused on the lore you need to know to be ready for Halo Infinite and guest-starring my wife Amanda.
I say let’s wait till next week to see any response to the situation. With that said, I can’t believe the official release is this close. The excitement is growing!
Lol no. The only thing you can look at is games played and your rank.
It’d be neat if the fat scorpion on Deadlock lowered a platform down in the middle of the map to jump on as it reloaded its chamber after firing. It feels like the map needs a little something going on in that area.
