None of the maps in Infinite rn have any map interactivity or dynamism like that, it’s unfortunate. Would be cool to see in the future maps for sure.

Started out placed in diamond 1. I have been busy for a couple weeks so I couldn’t play much. Today I went from diamond 1 to diamond 5 while shitting on low onyx players. Think getting onyx will be no issue for me.

Loot caves are in the one map. So there’s that. Hopefully more in future tho for sure.
He is right BUT there is something to be said about players focused on challenges to the detriment of the game’s objectives. They should add a Lone Wolf hopper so folks can focus on challenges there w/o hindering team performance. They should also add XP after each match that accounts for 10% of the player’s score in the match if they win and 5% if they loose. That way it is based on player performance and team performance. It’d be a trivial change to the code that would largely fix the progression imho.
Also add Slayer and Objective playlists for both BTB and Arena. Keep Fiesta playlist in Arena and add SWAT playlist too. Also, let us unlock some cosmetics via the Training Mode and Weapons Drills.

I have been playing everyday about 1 hour and I came up with the very same impression yesterday. I’m able to lvl up about 2 tiers by session. I have the impression if 343 let the “halo fans” plays with their crayons and mess up with colors, 80% of tears would dry out. I played about 6 hs so far, and lvl 6 in the battlepass and 5 in the event, and I really suck in MP as general.
I’ve gotten to level 32 on the pass and am actually starting to worry about being done with it way too early
Then I realize that just means I would need to play the game just for the sheer fun of it…perish the thought!

I haven’t even started this new event yet, I assume I can progress in it the other two weeks they’ve said the event is live?
How you dare playing the game just for fun? It is illegal according to r/halo. I also want all my colors back and demand all the store itens to be free with free new content and maps monthly.

I agree 100% which is why I am not even remotely worried about the game with all the backlash and weird progression stuff. Said it a million times they got the core gameplay down perfectly and that is the most important part, I’m sure they’re ecstatic that the thing people are mostly complaining about is modes and cosmetic unlocks when there is a million othing things that could’ve been worse.
Steam numbers haven’t dropped that much since the first day too, actually got a nice boost when the first event came out.

Halo 3 online gameplay did not age well. If anything 343 did well in Halo 4 was speeding up the pace.
H3 and Halo 5 aged the best for me in terms of MP.
The bloom in H4 and Reach had me down bad, turned to COD and BF and never looked back that generation.
That’s no recency basis as well. Halo Infinite has the best gameplay out of all the Halos.

I wouldn’t say I have zero worries, I do think for the long term, the current playlists, customization and battle pass system can’t continue in the state it is without being detrimental to the game experience, and despite how many times people harp on about “playing for the sake of fun”, people love to progress towards something and it doesn’t just have to be cosmetics, cuz the game lacks any progression outside that too (career progression which 343 has acknowledged they’ll add down the line). So yeah let’s get that out of the way, that teleology is in everything and a lot of people care about progression (not just pertaining to cosmetics).
I think the whole armor core stuff can be improved, it is needlessly restrictive for us while bots get to mix and match as they please, they could make it so we can cross-core as well, it’ll lead to much much better player expression.
Regarding Battlepass, what’s more of an issue rn than speed of the progression or whatever is the “roll-the-dice and hope you get the right mode that corresponds the challenge” aspect which will get solved once they give us dedicated playlists so folks playing objective can choose objective playlists while slayer folks can be left alone to kill each other in their own playlist (aka me and Nick lol).
And the Tenrai timegating was not the way to go.
343 got the game absolutely right, but the live service around it needs a lot of work imo. Ske7ch himself said a lot of people internally do feel the current systems are pretty bad too in the recent stream, so they’re aware and wanna fix it, which is relieving to me.
All I hope in the short term is dedicated playlists, that’s it. 
Let’s hope Dec 8th brings that.

Thing is all of those things can easily be addressed, if the game was not fun but the game had the best battle pass in the world with the cheapest cosmetics of any game the game would be dead right now. They know they need to fix this stuff, they would be reading every comment and take it aboard. MS will want this game to last the 10 years, if they don’t fix this stuff people will fall off and the game won’t last 10 years. This is why I say I’m not worried because MS will want to look after the game and their pockets (which ties back into making sure the game is great) and we know that MS have before listened to feedback quickly.
Now with all that said I don’t think it’s all guranteed and I would be there right with the people who are complaining a lot now if it’s not done in a semi timely manner. I have a feeling this is another Gold membership price rise thing where there might’ve been some internal conflict if it should happen this way or not and the people who were saying this was a bad idea was right again.
The playlist issue is probably the most easiest things to fix too so I don’t think you’ll have to worry about that any time soon. Just all these things will take time to fix and they’re just having some down time now, I’d expect the playlist thing to probably be addressed by the end of the year but most other things will probably dip into next year.
Just so you know I’m not against any of the backlash I’m all for it, I’m just a person that takes a lot for me to get angry at something unlike some. I hope all the coating stuff and mix and mashing does get sorted and the progression. I would love them to just give us 100’s of challenges that are all unlocked that we can work towards all the time.
