hell yeah 12 minutes is quite a bit for a preview

I’m really hoping 343 have been able to pull this off! From what they’ve shown it should comfortably be their best Halo campaign to date…which I know some will see as a low bar but the snippets we’ve seen genuinely look a lot of fun.

I am in the camp that felt Halo probably did need to do something a little different now so I can’t wait to hear if they’ve made the open world work. I really hope they’ve nailed the atmosphere of the open world. Stuff like Red Dead and Witcher I thought did a good job with the environments they created, hopefully Infinite’s open world won’t feel too static or sterile (the announce trailer certainly hinted at a world that felt alive).

4 hours is a decent chunk of play time. In previous Halo’s that probably would’ve taken you over half way through the campaign so I wonder how far into Infinite they got in that time. I know no conclusions can be drawn from just a preview but if they came away loving what they saw, it bodes well for the rest of the campaign. Last thing we want is them coming away feeling underwhelmed.

What is the problem? First impression is important we want Halo to be shown off by people that have actually play it before cause their last Halo video the player showing it off really suck and it makes Halo look bad gameplay wise which Halo is not it the player that is bad that why we are saying they IGN need to find some one with actual skill at Halo to show off the Gameplay not another Noob who looks like he has never touch a First Person Shooter game ever that all

love seeing the Esports teams hyping up their announcements for their Halo teams, I’m not into Esports, I have dabbled in some CSGO streams but had no idea what was going on and who was who but I kinda liked it but never really got into it. I might actually try with Halo because the sandbox could make it cool and everything is starting from scratch so I can follow a team that I like.

Mods make everything better!

I hope the next IGN preview is done by someone who hasn’t ever played Halo before. Just to annoy the gatekeepers.

Yup. I think some people have forgotten their job is to cover the game, not sell the game. And there is a difference.

Besides, even if it was, there isn’t one person who is gonna skip it because an IGN person missed some headshots or whatever.

Whatever silly shit people are trying to tell themselves to justify it, there is no merit to putting even more toxicity into the gaming sphere. Especially when the reason is “They’re not as good at games as I am!”

I loved Overwatch League and how they did things.

Yep. I mean, the game should appeal to people who have never played it as much as those who put in 1000s hours.

While I agree that the person doing preview stuff should have a general grip on the game or at least just let the devs play instead, I don’t think it should be an esport level pro telling us all the nade spots for day 1.

What? horrible take that make no sense no one is gatekeeping new people from playing halo the multiplayer is F2P to attract a wider audience we are not against new people playing halo but this is a campaign demonstrating they need someone that know what the hell they are doing to show off the gameplay and stuff it will actually hurt halo impression if a noob play it and has no clue what they are doing it makes the game look bad

It’s like 343i said, the actual feedback has been mixed.

It’s just when people dislike something they are more vocal than if they have no problem with it. So those vocal people get the impression that everyone agrees with them as they don’t hear opposition.

For me, I would need to try the beta with and without it to make a judgement as to what felt better. I certainly had no issues with it being off. I would need to try it with it on and see how it affected the game before judging if it was an improvement or a detriment…

I’ve played halo for 20 years and never once heard “they should turn Collisions off”. And I played 100-200 matches in the tech tests. Never once did someone say they liked the change, yet I heard 5-6 say they didn’t like it. Between here, reset, and halo waypoint I’ve only seen 1-2 people total say they like collisions off, but a hundred or so say they want them back on.

For the most part I agree, vocal minority stands out. But this isn’t that. Seams like they made this change just to make a change. No one has ever asked for it, and nearly no one actually likes it.

Edit- to be honest I’m not even too worried about it though. Because I KNOW they will change it. For ranked at least. High level players will complain about it so much, as will all the professional players. It’s cheap, can lead to a lucky and unfair kills/wins. Will look really bad from a esports viewership point of view. So ya I’ve talked about it a lot, but I’m not worried. It will get rejected and changed and then this game will be able to Stand next to the best of bungies halos, if not taller.

I’m sure they’re gonna lose a ton of players because of those videos…

Also, reminder: it’s not IGN’s job to sell the game.

EDIT: Also, when you and your buddy are preparing ahead of time “to roast them”, I don’t buy you’re concerned for the game whatsoever. It’s just toxicity.

Its their job to offer good gameplay, to inform people, so yeah, I want someone who knows what the hell they’re playing.

I want to see the potential of this game, not be enraged by someone who doesn’t know anything about it.

Wanting a bad campaign gameplay because of “gatekeeping” doesn’t make any sense.

No it’s not.

And also, you (and everyone else here) is already sold on the game.
