Halo |OT| Master Chief's Breath of the Wild Moment (Part 1)

Gears 5 fixed this issue in my opinion. Offering 24 hour boosts instead of much briefer boosts is a really good offer as you don’t feel as anxious to “maximize” your playtime.

Ainsley from Seasoned Gaming was saying that 343 has been working with hcs folks for Infinite. Ains is an ex hcs guys and follows mechanics also very closely.

Let’s see what they show today.

Hoping we see the new radar used in the competitive settings during today’s video.

Seems like everyone is loving this

When the guy repulsed his way to the top floor and ambushed the enemy player :fire:. The sandbox in this game is going to be really good.

The one negative I’m feeling from this competitive reveal is a personal nit pick of mine, but I hate when a dev says “right?” at the end of a lot of their statements

It just gives me a feeling of being sold something and has an underlying twinge of dishonesty. Not that it always means that, but it defintely annoys me

Good

Now Campaign please

please

Yeah, multiplayer is top notch, but it’s only one side of the coin.

i need it! water GIF

Less than 2 months away and aside from the cutscene and a world overview at E3 2021 the only real showing is the infamous reveal.

November 15. They’ve already explained why and when they’re showing the game

Is that confirmed or you speculating

When else will they show it, it would be pretty dumb to not show it on the 15th, it’s a Monday so perfect timing for news to drop and it’s the 20th anniversary of Halo, like cmon. I’m expecting the 15th is when the massive marketing ramp up starts with ads everywhere. I think they’ll probably do a livestream countdown till launch too with cool giveaways and such.

I thought the repulsor was the coolest pick-up next to the grapple.

It’s likely, but yet to be…Proven

God I suck

I’m guessing but mid November is the likeliest time. They’ll probably finish the game by the end of the month and go gold the first week of November.

Br starts, no radar, no grenade hit markers, friendly fire on, no secondary weapon to start match and weapons have designated spots on map that won’t change, all on timer.

All great settings IMO. So damn happy the AR isn’t in starting loadout.

I was hoping they would address player collisions but sadly they didn’t, as that’s my one huge negative on the game. Was also hoping they would discuss the ranking system, another time I guess.

Shouldn’t Halo Infinite Multiplayer mode also be made available on other consoles/platforms (Switch, Playstation)?

  • F2P games lower the entry barrier extremely and open up services/games to a wide audience, especially to those who are curious/on the fence
  • Xbox is a service now, and they wish more people to subscribe to Game Pass than anything – besides, they’re selling Xboxes at a loss

With Halo Infinite Campaign – Xbox’s biggest release – coming soon, putting Halo Infinite Multiplayer F2P mode on Switch and/or Playstation would bring in a whole new audience that otherwise wouldn’t have tried Halo games, thus getting more people interested in Halo Infinite Campaign mode, which could propel Game Pass and/or Xbox Series S|X sales.

This is especially important during Infinite’s release, as that would put Xbox and Halo in the spotlight and keep it trending. You want to bring in as many potential customers as possible during this phase. Marketing Game Pass as $1 for 3 months alongside it could be a killer combo.

Keeping the game only on Xbox consoles and PC would limit the potential audience and reach. If F2P games like Fortnite and Apex Legends weren’t available on all platforms, they wouldn’t have been as mainstream as they are now. And locking the game, especially the Multiplayer mode, behind a $300 console OR even a $1 Game Pass/xCloud subscription, regardless of the infinitely small entry price, will still introduce friction and thus make them lose out on potential customers. Besides, not everyone has a high-end desktop lying around to play those games natively  So, end customers would still need adequate hardware (=> friction), or make do with cloud streaming.

By putting the Multiplayer mode on Switch/Playstation (or even mobile), they let everyone get a free taste of Halo while it’s trending (which creates a large and healthy community that generates word of mouth), which would prompt users to buy an Xbox and/or Game Pass subscription to enjoy the Campaign mode, which successfully catches them in the Game Pass service where they’ll inevtiably get to try other Xbox and 3rd party games

I know that some will argue that Halo is an exclusive IP and that Xbox would want to maintain its interests and promote its own hardware. But the vast majority of recent successes in the F2P shooters landscape have been multiplatform games (Fortnite, Apex Legends, CoD Warzone, Warframe, Destiny 2). ~50% of all purchases in Fortnite come from PS4 players, and ~25% from Xbox One. With the Switch’s ~7%, that’s a total of ~80% of all Fortnite purchases coming from consoles (as opposed to mobile or PC)!

If Microsoft is serious about pushing the Game Pass subscription to reach 2 billion users worldwide, opening up their biggest IP to a large audience by making it available virtually everywhere as a gateway to their Game Pass service would be a wise move.

Thoughts?

Just my thoughts…

No, because from what I’ve been told every PlayStation owner already has a PC to play it on.

In addition to that, they could play it on their Tablet if they also subscribe to GamePass Ultimate and play it via GamePass xCloud. Their additional subscription to GamePass is more of a benefit to the eccosystem than them playing a F2P natively on their other equipment.
