Halo Infinite releasing fall 2021 - Halo Waypoint

The same reason Cyberpunk 2077 us being released buggy as hell and yet getting 90 metacritic scores.

Fortunately for us it got delayed

Good on them for taking some extra time to polish everything and make it as good as possible. I would have liked to see it come sooner, but I know the extra time will only make the final game better. Plus, Halo is in great hands with Staten.

I probably won’t even be able to find a Series X until Fall anyway

I really hope they ship with Firefight (or some new PvE experience) on launch day now. Since they got the extra time.

It’s funny, I’m super excited for Cyberpunk and have been for a while but with the reviews hitting and talking about the amount of bugs the game has, my immediate thought was, I’m glad Microsoft delayed Halo. And now reading this blog post, it reaffirms my excitement for Halo.

The details of the blog posts plus the little they showed of the multiplayer shots, I’m so pumped. Sucks it’ll be next fall instead of Spring but i imagine this is going to be one of their most polished games to date.

I do wonder what they’ll have early next year now, something is telling me, the Initiatives game might be a spring release now.

Yeah this is for the best. Staten seems to have a firm grip on the Halo Infinite ship and is steering it towards greatness.

Fine, I’ll wait

They’re going to redo this entire Halo launch build up for hype and marketing you can just see it haha. It’s gonna be like let’s just imagine 2020 didn’t exist and here is the first time you’ve seen Halo Infinite. I expect a HUGE push for holidays next year with cool custom controllers and consoles. They’re going to launch the game when people will actually be able to just walk into a store and buy a console.

It would’ve been silly to launch it early 2021 when consoles are still hard to get, not only is it good for that but you’re also given the team much more time which is the most important thing. I can’t see any downsides to this at all imo.

The wait pains me because I would love to play it now but! giving them more time to make a better game is much better so I can wait.

I said it in our show today. First feeling was relief. By the time I got to the end of the piece and read Staten’s final take, I’m all in. They have a strong leader in front of the campaign and overall game now. Someone who knows the franchise. Who understands why it was great. I do believe the team that’s been working on it for the past 5 years has been working towards something that captured it’s spirit and I’m excited by Staten saying the campaign brought back “30 seconds of fun”. That said, I expect the sandbox to get tweaked where it needs tweaking. Sometimes small things make a big difference. I expect the team will now get enough time with the next gen tools to make it look really nice. Very excited. All aboard for Halo Infinite. A lot can happen in a year and 1/2 especially with better tools…which is the amount of time from the demo the team will get.

Yea sounds like he loves the campaign and him saying its what they imagined in 2000 thats a BOLD claim

I didn’t realize that last shot was in game. Thought it was concept art. There’s real ray tracing there if that’s the case.

Very nice update even if we have to wait a little bit longer. No big deal, multiplayer flighting is coming before that.

Which shot?

I believe Staten calls it concept art

Nope it’s a concept art :slightly_smiling_face:

Ok that’s what I originally thought. Then I read someone said everything was in game. Must’ve meant everything else was.

In hindsight I think most of the visual issues from the July demo likely stemmed from GDK limitations. They need plenty of time to really get that up to speed and build their game around it, plus I’ve always been a huge fan of the release getting moved to Nov 15th, 2021.

GREAT update and I really dig their attitude here. The MP pics are also quite impressive for a 120fps title!

He is among the only ‘investigative reporters’ in the industry anymore…that doesn’t make him a good one. He has the ‘everything’s a nail’ complex imho. The only other notable investigative reporter in gaming in Klepek and he doesn’t do a lot lately iirc. Schreier is not a good reporter by any standard of journalism tbh. He exaggerates who he has access to as sources and conflates really important distinctions to fit the narrative he has built his career of off (and plenty of book sales).
