Halo campaign spoiler thread (DO NOT ENTER IF YOU DO NOT WANT SPOILERS)

I think unconfirmed but presumed dead guy turns out not to be dead is just a regular trope in stories like this.

Sure but Atriox is smarter than that and he even says he is coming to Cortana from the vantage point of bargaining for the Index. Why would Cortana give him that if MC were already dead and humanity had no viable hope left? He would have screwed himself over, no?

So if Atriox is still alive and somewhere

Does this mean the Spirit of Fire is coming back for an expansion…

They got more beef with him than Chief does.

I mean theoretically, Spirit of Fire is one of the last remaining UNSC ships, and it has Spartan II’s on it…

Please.

PLEASE

I’ll have to see if I can watch the scenes again on YouTube

They included Spirit of Fire and cast in the Divine Wind book, considering also Halo Wars put on ice, I think they will keep the two storylines separated, we have already the Banished in the mainline games, which is the biggest thing from HW2 anyway. Maybe Anders, who has been captured on Installation 09 by a Guardian (but now Cortana is dead, so?), can be introduced, but I doubt it.

what are guardians doing now that mom is dead?

I think they would still act by their programming, but IDK how much intelligent they are.

There’s a dead-ass Guardian crash landed on Zeta Halo in the distance.

It is interesting how basically the Promethans and the Guardians are just dead-ass gone in the campaign.

They KIND of explained it, but I’m dying to fully read the book where they explain away an entire faction and giant bird monsters.

yep, IIRC that’s the one that Cortana used to destroy part of the ring, and it likely fell after she died.

I’m certain we will be visiting it in a DLC.

Weren’t there some huge dead Guardians on Halo 4 setting, or were they just sleeping until Cortana woke them? I don’t really remember the event timeline just vaguely recalling ruins of sort.

I wouldn’t hold onto anything Halo 5 related all that much as it appears Infinite + DLC at this time appear to be an entire reboot of the story and it’s direction.

Halo 5 and evil Cortana was NOT well received, people hated the Promethians and that plotline, so thery jettisoned it for more Covenant 2.0 + The Endless and the dangling of the possible Flood return.

So I’m sure some things about Halo 5 will be addressed, but I don’t expect them to focus on it and maybe have a terminal or something about them, but I think we’ve seen the last of a lot of Halo 4 + 5 plot threads.

I have one question

What is Humanity actually doing with the Mantle they have? Is it just a thing they put on a plaque and hung on their walls or are they actually doing anything worthy and expected of a Mantle holder of the galaxy for the several species that inhabit it? Is there anything in the books, games, etc which talks about this? How is humanity helping rid the galaxy of persecution, remnant covenant-like class systems, etc

It’s just a title and responsibility. I THINK

It means you’re supposed to protect the galaxy and help out lesser species and shit.

Also humanity didn’t know they were given the Mantle because the Ancient Humans were damn near wiped out and regressed to stone age technology.

So us finding out about the mantle during the time of Halo means nothing to humanity because we didn’t know how old our species was.

Makes sense. But is there even an initiative planned in the narrative for what humanity has in mind now that they know they’re the ā€œreclaimersā€, of course that is gonna be immediately challenged by The Endless being released. It’s interesting because if The Endless were innocent and wrongfully imprisoned, it’d be the responsibility of the Mantle holder to release them, but what if the prisoners here challenge that very Mantle, that is a problem humanity and everyone tbh has to contend with now.

It’s only an assumption of responsability and/or imperial pretense over the galaxy. Humans are concretely able to power up and use Forerunner tech directly, unlike any other species, outside maybe the Endless. Anyway they are not unlike the others, among ONI, Insurrectionists and such, there are vedy bad individuals among humans. XD

Most of this stuff is 343 bullshit.

This stuff didn’t exist during Bungie-Era Halo.

Man, Halo Lore is nearly as complicated and stupid as Kingdom Hearts

I love every second of it.

pretty much what I believe as well. Is there even points in the story/lore where abolishing the very concept of Mantle has been discussed by anyone? Cuz I think it’s not a model that’s not something necessary to preserve at all costs.
