Elaborate a little, also, it’s all true. XD

I’m not really into nostalgia, which is why I don’t buy Nintendo anymore.

I really can’t think a better argument

Ok, I get it, disagreement not allowed for nostalgia things, lol. Imo Xbox should focus in more meaningful things than Nintendo collabs. I suspect the average Xbox gamer won’t be enthusiastic about this, I can think about something like Kotor, with actual Xbox legacy, was more important.

Nintendo games are also fuckin’ awesome, polished af videogames so that’s maybe another reason to play them besides ā€œnostalgiaā€. :stuck_out_tongue:

I sure as hell don’t like Metroid Other M, Super Mario Sunshine and Skyward Sword so maybe the ā€œnostalgiaā€ thing didn’t work those three times I guess? :open_mouth: :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

But now talking seriously, I think you are doing the nostalgia argument a lot, like this was the only thing goldeneye has to offer. Goldeneye does great things that no other game I played did in the last 15 years. I also disagree when you say this doesn’t have value to Xbox. For more than a decade I read how Microsoft destroyed rare and their IPs. While I disagree with this argument, this give people outside Xbox ecosystem a sign that things changed.

Lots of people are complaining that Sony has Spider-Man and Wolverine, which are huge IPs, with no response of Xbox. When they give a response, bringing back one of the greatest movie IPs and one of the most revolutionary games of its generation, you reduce it to pure nostalgia.

I could not play doom or quake in the past because I couldn’t have a PC when they lauched and they gave me motion sickness. Bringing them back to a modern console, with modern controls, allowed me to play these games and I loved them a lot. It’s not nostalgia, it’s quality, and Goldeneye has a lot.

PS: sorry if I sound rude, not my intention, possibly due to language barrier.

Don’t worry, anyway Goldeneye is no longer a mainstream thing since the 90s, it’s nowhere near Spiderman, come on. The aforementioned Kotor is more mainstream, being Star Wars. This is pure nostalgia and some side agreement between MS and Nintendo for who knows what else. I find also amusing Nintendo was the one which murdered the project in the first place, but I bet is gonna be heralded as the winner here, watch it, lol.

Halo CE already did everything Goldeneye better in 2001, so with Halo Infinite you are good. XD

Concerning Rare legacy, I mean, if they cared about what angry gamers say, they would have already made other 3 Banjo games (which would be more integral than this one with the Xbox strategy, being kids games, a very limited quantity among XGS portfolio). They did not.

Only people with more than 30 years care for this one, which is ok, be clear, but let’s not herald it like the second coming of Jesus. XD

To be honest the only angry gamer bringing negativity to the thread is you…talking about very boomers and trying to dismiss the qualities of a classic game by playing the nostalgia card? maybe you haven’t noticed but everything was cool until your passive aggressive post.

You always see winners, losers, better choices, profit, enemies and allies in everything…can’t we just be excited about a freakin’ videogame? jfc

Disagreement not allowed, I get it, expecially for old nostalgia relics. XD

What disagreement exactly? we haven’t even seen the remaster and what improvements it will bring and you haven’t even played the original game (by your posts that’s what I understand at least) and you continue to shit on it.

I only questioned the time and the purpose, I think it’s allowed, no? Then one guy said me to shut up (very nice indeed)) and the other scolded me about the importance of the game for Xbox legacy (??), but I’m the angry gamer, ok. XD

Funnily enough I had the N64, but I played only Mario 64, Donkey Kong and SW: Rogue Squadron, then my father got me the PS1, which had arguably the better porfolio, and never looked back, so I’m old enough to get the general sentiment, but I’m not moved by nostalgia even if it was a remake of a old game I played on PS1, that’s it, no ill intent.

My point is: supposing you are correct and it is only nostalgia, only an appeal to 30+ demographics. And? This public is a XGP demographic and they are receiving a game they want.

I agree with you Microsoft should go harder to not lose deals like KOTOR remake, but I don’t know how the negotiations were, so I won’t give an opinion about it. That said, Sony did with KOTOR exactly what Microsoft is doing with goldeneye, or did with Yakuza: embracing experiences people had in other consoles.

About Banjo, or even KI, two points: things are changing at Xbox and looks like XGS are trying to balance what their consumers want to play with what their studios want to do, which is hard. I’m telling this based on declarations they did in their documentary.

Finally, the comparison between Halo Infinite and Goldeneye is wrong. Halo relies on enemies with different behaviors, limit of guns and enemies with a lot more resistance than Goldeneye. On the other hand, Goldeneye challenge increases by adding missions to embrace more exploration. Their multiplayer are completely different as well, AFAIK, Halo Infinite don’t have anything like Golden Gun, Remote Mines or Throwing Knives.

Goldeneye isn’t about nostalgia. I never played PD or Goldeneye on N64, i never even owned the console. Played PD on 360 and Goldeneye after the leak last year. Had a lot of fun with both games because they are still good :woman_shrugging:

Exactly my point and it is the same feeling I had with Id games

At least play the game before coming to conclusions about it’s quality and how well it still holds up.

Yep, old games can be fun…I know it’s a crazy concept for some people but it happens. lol

I will if it’s on GP, otherwise, no thanks, anyway, I grant you the thing about the quality of this remaster, but the other things I said are facts (Nintendo murdered the thing in the 360 era, 99% of people who want this are older than me, Halo had a bigger long lasting effect on gaming, etc…), but someone took it as personal offence IDK why.

Zoomers talking shit about games they’ve never played

You hate to see it

To be fair, the only thing I disagree with you in a visceral level is when you said people should not look at this as the second coming of Jesus. I can’t say in the name of others why a game is important for them or not, which makes me passed when people say a game is overrated, for example.

Despite this, is just disagreement about video games, not serious at all.

you are talking shit about a games content without playing it and because you are personally offended by Nintendos actions, lol. at least you should take the heat then.

Cool, man, I don’t take offense for trivial things like these ones, even if someone tells me to shut up, lol.

As you see, I don’t have any problem, only with impolite people. It’s not a sacrilege not liking Nintendo. Sometimes in this forum is more important to like Nintendo than Xbox. I like more Sony than them, considering I had all the PS.
