Gears |OT| All around me are familiar faces

Gears 6 will be launching on gamepass in 2023 or later which could be in the 50+m range and will likely be Earths best looking game on release.

Its going to do so much business that I will post…at least 10 laughing emojis at anyone who ever thought the IP was dying.

Gears 6 will be a lot bigger than what most expect. It will be the “final” chapter/epic conclusion of Kait’s story, it’s pretty clear that The Coalition has found their footings on the basics of the series, the game will not be held back by badly designed hardware, it will not be “stained” by the Xbox One generation and this time the marketing has to be better than what they have done with Gears 5.

Gears 6 will be a huge deal. I believe that The Coalition will deliver an amazing game.

Cant get any worse than what it was to be honest. My goodness has xbox ever marketed a game worse???

The coalition said that their current story it’s not a trilogy, but instead a saga, so it’s not going to end in the next one

I mean eh dont think any of the current crop of characters are good enough for a “saga”. But thats just me.

Just finished Gears Tactics, took me about 30ish hours and I am honestly impressed how well made this game is. You can tell they had a smaller budget than say Gears 5 but everything is really well made. I really hope they iterate on that and give us more Tactics games in the future… Gears fits so well in this genre.

Guys, I have a dilemma.

Do I play gears 5 one more time and Hivebusters on Xbox one x, or do I wait for series x?

I played through gears 5 when it launched on Xbox one s.

Well I didn’t know The Coalition confirmed that Kait will continue as the main protagonist after Gears 6, that’s quite interesting.

Gears is such a good looking game damn, doesn’t remotely get enough credit.

Gears 6 will look absolutely insane.

Is it confirmed that 6 won’t be the last mainline title? The story seems poised to end with 6.

Nobody knows

I saw someone mentioned that TC said it’s now considered a saga, but that is exactly what 343 said about Halo, so I’m wondering if they got confused with that. I don’t recall TC saying that.

Gahhhh imagine if they use that new face animation tech UE just released that video of.

Photogrammetry / PBR…pls.

guys is there a problem with Hivebusters installation or this is expected? It’s stuck at 0%. Does it not install until the main campaign has completed installing? Campaign is installing at a super slow pace too, it’s annoying as hell.

I’m on PC btw. Pls halp :sob:

EDIT: Turns out the game hasn’t even been downloaded properly yet but I could launch and play already, which is definitely interesting, but I did prioritize Hivebusters download but it chose to install the base campaign anyway. :man_shrugging:

How this game still looks great in 2021 (Gears 2)

Based on feedback from the community, we spent the holiday period reorganizing planned Operations to give you more content more often. This change will see the length of our operations shortened from 16 weeks to 11 weeks .

Additionally, we know that you’ve all loved us releasing mid-operation content such as the Carmines pack, so we’re going to be shifting our Operations to two content drops per operation: one launch drop and one mid-op drop, each drop will contain at least one map and two new characters.

The new map is great (never played 4’s multiplayer). And I like the fact that OPs will now last only 11 weeks instead of 16. I think that Gears 5 now has 28 maps?

All right, Gearheads, I have some questions for you.

Preamble: My partner is going out of town, so I decided to spend that time playing games they wouldn’t care to see and that I missed out on. Last time this happened, I played through all of the Halo games. This time, I’m thinking Gears of War.

Facts:

  • I’ve only ever played the first game on the 360 waaay back when, in co-op with a friend.
  • I do not remember anything about it, but I had a good time.
  • I have GPU, so I think I can play them all.
  • I have about a week.
  • I would be playing solo this time.
  • I’m fair at third-person shooters and would probably be playing the default difficulty.
  • I am not interested in achievements or multiplayer, it’s just for the experience and story.

Questions:

  • Is this doable? How long to beat says it’s about 9 to 10 hours per campaign, so I figure a couple of days per game with a bit of spillover.
  • Is this wise? I don’t have to cram them all in this timespan, but it would be best for me.
  • Is it as simple as playing 1, 2, 3, 4, 5? Any re-releases or must-play side games?
  • Are there suggested settings, eg “Gears 5 has a performance mode, but it’s a waste on XSX”?
  • Is the story good? I’m trying to keep an open mind, but the series (probably unfairly) has a dude-bro connotation in my mind (I went into Halo with low expectations for the story but enjoyed it)
  • Any tips or tricks about avoiding particularly frustrating bits eg “Don’t bring the shotgun to the last boss because he stays far away”?
  • Is there any chance that these will be improved in the future? I struggled through a lot of motion sickness with Halo:CE and then they added FOV or something which I’m told would have helped?

Thank you in advance for your expertise
