Games Analysis |OT| Time To Argue About Pixels And Frames!

Yeah I’m going to walk away from this discussion. You don’t seem to understand that undermining or ignoring a point is all that fanboys tend to do, no matter what way it is presented. The core problem here is what’s being presented requires context and nuance and people who are willfully ignorant (for whatever end goal) don’t care about context and nuance. His point was not misleading when you actually pay attention to what’s being said and presented. I don’t give a shit to what people will spin or present what he does to mislead others, that’s on them. But yeah, let’s continue to put the responsibility of thinking about every possible outcome of those who aren’t ever genuine to begin with.

I do understand your point in that regard, but doing their work for them is not helpful. That was my point on that front. Yes it is all very nuanced and the point is super important too, and as such that point should be thoughtfully presented knowing the audience includes ppl who are eager to spin things one way or the other for attention. That’s all. If he knows that presentation tactic would undermine his point he should use a different one that doesn’t. It’s not like he was unaware what would happen.

Similar gap as Averagers perf mode.

What the hell is immediacy? There are no loading times?

120 FPS in a 2K resolution is incredible, btw

What about series S?

And that’s a native next-gen SKU right?

It supports a 1440p60fps mode, but dunno about a 120fps one. Perhaps 720p120?

Yep, with the same humps just to transfer the save file onto ps5

Fallout 4 with the FPS boost at 4k seems to be fairly stable outside of some big explosions and momentary drops during combat.

I wonder how it compares with the modded 60fps version. DF said that to be a locked 60fps, but they only walked around I think.

The difference between the X and the PS5 is starting to get pretty big and it’ll only enlarge from now on.

Yeah, tools are an issue still, and we know some of the sx hardware features are not being used at all.

Though Kudos for Ms and developers for getting SX into a console stuck at around 1440p60 to a fairly consistent 4k60 on cross gen titles in such a short amount of time in a WFH scenario.

Shame that they can’t just retroactively improve already released games, so we are stuck with a few games not reaching their full performance target.

@KageMaru covers that in his Fallout 4 video iirc.

Essentially the same on both Series X and PS5.

Just like all the dragon engine games. Always parity, even between Xbox one and PS4.

Series S is a sick little machine, can’t believe a $299 console is doing 120fps at 900p and 60fps at 1440p. Series X is no slouch either doing 60fps at pretty much 4k and 120fps at 1440p. This is without performance saving features too like VRS/ML and the like.

That tweet seems to be incorrect. Infact situation is opposite here. PS5 for the win here. Atleast on the lower bound of DRS
