Yeah it seems like most of Remedy is focused on their next game and probably getting Crossfire out the door.
Remedy made a pretty good One X patch for the Quantum Break post-launch plus Control took advantage of the power of the One X and was running at a higher res than the PS4 Pro while also being the best performing console version by far. Letâs not jump to conclusions because so far Remedy has being pretty decent on supporting the Xbox hardware.
It will be an interesting comparison for sure though since the RT in this game is pretty demanding.
Control UE (PS5) Per DF.
This one should be interesting to watch.
DF claims parity between Series console and PS5, with Series X having some sort of I/O Stutter seen on last-gen consoles and current PCâs.
Imagine paying for these kind of settings lmao. This port just reeks.
RT looks great on it tbh. It is clear Remedy made cutbacks since they didnât have time or resources to do a full on re-release bespoke for next gen. It is annoying that DF keeps making PS5 the focus of their ânext generation tech reviewsâ. That gives the impression PS5 is the only next gen version out there or that it represents the âtrueâ next gen experience, as if âthat other consoleâ didnât exist. This has now happened a few times.
They are being paid to do them since those are sponsored videos
Pretty smart of Sony. Though I guess if Xbox tried the same thing theyâd be attacked relentlessly by fanboys.
Which is why I wonât really consider DF going forward.
Was the video sponsored by Sony? The only sponsor listed in the description was Logitech, which Iâm guessing was to advertise their products.
Dunno, didnât watch it, was just assuming that off Javierâs statement, so maybe I misinterpreted what he was saying. If it wasnât sponsored by Sony, then Iâm disappointed that DF are framing the PS5 as the only real nextgen console with these video titles.
I mean Control has a marketing agreement with Sony so probably best to showcase the game with them?
Gotcha. I donât think DF would care about that unless the video was sponsored by Sony.
They clearly know PS gets them more views so they are milking the viewership, itâs easier for them as they donât have to include Xbox as it saves time too. Maybe we get another video with Series X and PC settings. But this is disappointing nonetheless.
What exactly is this IO stutter?
Not seeing anywhere saying it was sponsored either by Sony or by Remedy/505 Games. With the CoD one it explicitly said Activision sponsored it (and since Sony paid for marketing deal with them, it makes sense for Activision to focus on that version).
Their analyses are still best in class and fair. I just hope they arenât leaning into PS5 versions as âtrue next gen benchmarksâ just for clicks.
Yeah, I was a bit too quick there, though Iâm still a bit wary.
Is it fair to say that Im disappointed in the Control UE âupgradesâ?
I dunno. I doubt that they have put much resources into the port, but the game is pretty intensive and even on gpus stronger than ps5 and SX requires dropping the resolution lower than 1440p to get all RT effects running at decent framerates. Even without rt game runs particularly poorly on amd gpus as well so the other lowish settings makes sense too.
Without a DLSS like solution for the consoles they chose a good compromise I would say.
It sucks that Game Pass didnât get the UE upgrade. I sure as hell am not paying for it.
Gotta say that the 30fps didnât look too great when I played it on my XSX. Seems like a different 30fps than other games. Hell, Indiana Jones has a more âpleasantâ to the eyes 30fps.
So with RT in the game now itâs still 30fps? And 60fps is basically how it looks now without the patch? I would hope itâs cleaner because Iâm playing it now and I see aliasing here and there and it isnât as crisp as it could be. I bet itâs significantly more sharp on XSX with the patch.
What is currently the resolution on One X?
What is so enjoyable about this game? This game bored me when I tried playing it. Even QB was boring. Never tried Alan Wake. I honestly feel like Remedy peeked with the Max Payne franchise.
