How has it been a disaster? This is a temporary problem. If the issue persists after more than a year, then yeah, I can see why it would be completely unacceptable. But if the situation does improve, which I am 95% sure it will, then in the long term, it really isn’t that big of a deal.
You’ve been posting this since 8 weeks prior to Pre orders going on sale. So you’ve not seen a single positive thing since then.
But that’s not really my point. It’s that you haven’t discussed a single other thing beyond your view that Xbox is terrible. Nothing about any games or anything else…the industry thread you did venture in was only to post that you don’t care what Xbox do because their launch is so bad…this was in August…
I’m sorry but I don’t think you are acting in good faith.
It’s fine to be critical it’s not fine to constantly be posting absolute rubbish and then calling other people liars. It’s also not fine to only be here to shout one single opinion and abuse anyone who raises the issues with your point of view. I’ve never visited neogaf but perhaps this sort of thing is more normal there but I’d hoped when joining that this place would be ,ore constructive…which I’m the whole it is…
I’m 100% sure this will be fixed but the differences are pretty evident as of now.
Couple this with no first party launch games which is probably even a bigger deal.
Wasnt a problem when the ps4 launched with deck chairs and brand soda but here we are acting like thats an issue.
Disaster? Buyers remorse? Hey you do you, but I fully disagree with that.
Disaster? That was in 2013 when games were 720p full of aliasing on Xbox One and crisp and clean at 1080p on PS4. And even that got improved.
Disappointing? Yes. It comes on top of other disappointments (which personally I’m already over) like a not very strong first party launch but that’s about it. Jesus friends, let’s calm down.
Because its a comprable situation. You are just a troll in this forum I dont know why you are so interested in all of this.
At this point I kinda wish DF threw in Xbox One X comparisons in the mix to see how that stacks up, especially compared to the Series S
Ya’ll are shitting up the thread. Take your bickering to PM’s please.
It is entirely fair to discuss the comparison and the results and the analysis and the shortcomings. It is also fair to address the reason for those shortcomings with some nuance. Whining about marketing or platform warring is not appropriate here, nor is name calling or personal attacks or wild nonsense about how we should view other forums.
Also, this isn’t an ideal thread to litigate concerns about the GDK release schedule. It’s good for ppl to mention it but if your response to that is to be [concerned] about how it affects marketing or some such nonsense, take that elsewhere please. This ain’t a marketing thread.
Nevermind , I am tired of debating this, it is what it is.
Outside of the 120FPS mode on Series X being disappointing compared to PS5, overall, I would say it looked pretty even. And if you have a TV that supports VRR, you’re good to play. I will only play Dirt 5 if it goes into Game Pass as im not a sports/racing guy when it comes to video games but if it does, I will be playing in the Image Quality mode. Better effects. Don’t care about the resolution. Pretty much stays at 60FPS throughout.
Its fine to be disappointed with xbox especially if you bought the series x as your multiplatform machine but to act like its over for Microsoft and think all multiplatform games will run best on ps5 thats what bothers me. We’ve already heard before series x came out that the tools weren’t ready. Let’s wait till next year to see how this all turns out. At the end of the day its still a 10 tf machine and a 12 tf machine. Along with higher clocked cpu and better ram speed. No matter what its still the most powerful console. This is clearly a tools problem.
Oh, we’re still using TF as a meaningful metric? Even though devs have said that difference doesn’t matter?
Considering the fact that developers were using an updated PS4/PS5 tool sets while not even having a final retail ready build of tools for XSX/XSS, I would say that the developers who said that aren’t really in the position to make that determination because one console has the tools done where as the other doesn’t.
People are going nuts two weeks after launch. Will be funny to see down the line when XSX is slaughtering PS5 in every head to head if everyone still has that same energy. My guess is probably not.
12TF is 25% more powerful compared to the 9.2TF that PS5 has and no, it’s not 10.3TF because like DF has said and shown in videos, it goes “up to 10.3TF” which means that it’s lower and being overclocked which is pretty obvious at this point when you look at the console design, a heat sink that is literally half the space inside the console, a boat propeller fan and liquid cooling on the GPU. Even with all that, PS5 consoles are still having artifact issues and in turn becoming useless.
Just like with the launch lineups, people are putting way too much stock into now when the generation will last at least 7 years if not longer.
TF is still a meaningful metric and no matter what the performance on the software side shows the series x will always be the more powerful console.
He is a troll dont engage him.
People posting here making assumptions without watching…
The 120 mode has to be bug. My guess is the Series X is using Series S detail or distances detail up close. Considering it never dips below 120, there is obvious headroom here.
People are making assumptions on the next 5-7 years on games released in the first weeks of the consoles life. With games not even close to utilizing all of amazing features both consoles have.
Launching this year was unnecessary. Launching in 2021 with better games and performance would have been much better.
And miss out on Holiday sales? No.
All this stuff is fixable.
