I think people will take DF’s video at face value rather than Shinobi’s tweet. It’s gonna spread fast that XBox Series X is the best place to play Hitman III.

Also, Sony had the marketing rights to this one and it plays best on Series X.

Microsoft definitely stabbed themselves in the foot but i always knew that it was a 1080p machine that would occasionally have higher res games. They technically didn’t lie but they intentionally misled which i guess is to be expected when it comes to marketing.

Hitman 3 does not support Ray Tracing yet aswell. It will be coming later on

Ah yes, but I meant as in how Bloober does have raytracing in PS5 version, but still not in XSX, just not good. Really do hope The Medium has it but we’ll see.

I’m not surprised. Some folks are insufferable and always don’t know what logic and common sense are. XSX is the more powerful hardware, it was only due to some tools being late that this advantage wasn’t fully shown yet in the beginning and now we’re seeing it. PS5 > Series X: AC Valhalla, Immortals: Fenyx Rising, DMC V (1/4 modes), Black Ops Cold War (1/3 modes). No noticeable difference: For Honor. All games have shorter loading times on the Series X except for Borderlands 3. Let’s see where Control, Hitman 3, Godfall and Yakuza 7 land, but Mortal Kombat 11’s recently released next-gen SKU is performing better on Series X than on PS5. The situation for the X has improved a ton compared to November already. I posted this a few days ago.

At my brother’s place I did see how fast Spidey MM loaded and in videos Demon’s Souls, that was quite damn nice! @Staffy He works for Wushu studio who are the developers on Destruction All-Stars. Not technically a Sony company, but they are making a PS5 exclusive published by Sony.

Meanwhile, there are additional tweaks to shadow quality too. Series S uses the equivalent to PC’s low quality shadows (in common with the last-gen base console renditions of Hitman 3), while PlayStation 5 runs at medium (similar to One X and PS4 Pro) and Xbox Series X operates at high. The difference is fairly subtle across all three, but it’s there nonetheless.

Yes, Series X’s resolution advantage is there, and the Glacier engine thrives on precision, giving it a pristine edge. With that said, however, the lower resolution on PlayStation 5 is in no way a problem and still looks wonderful.

Put simply, it’s 60 frames per second… with just one exception in our hours of play. In the Mendoza mission set in Argentina, it is possible to see Xbox consoles run between 50 to 60fps around a field towards the outskirts of the level, while PlayStation 5 remains constant at 60fps. Hopefully IO will look at improving this for owners of the Microsoft machines

Making an SSD so much better than the rest of the components always seemed silly to me because it could lead to scenarios like the current one where pretty much all games load faster on Xbox, even next-gen SKUs.

Don’t think the CPU is really making a big difference here. Both systems have decompression blocks to assist the CPU. There are a lot of aspects that could effect loading in games. No matter what, we’ll never see the disparity in loading as the specs on paper would indicate.

I think some people are just talking issue with the wording saying “some drops” meaning that it has more than one, when it’s just a single drop in one area in one instance.

It’s somewhat poorly worded I think is some people’s problem.

It would have been better to say

“One observed framerate drop”

Some drops implies several, which is not the case, as it appears to be singular.
