Games Analysis |OT| Time To Argue About Pixels And Frames!

Yeah, it seems to be 60fps for next gen consoles.

As for SX vs Ps5. It seems resolution differences for both the game and some effects (like reflections and shadows being lower res on PS5).

Could be the first game with a bigger delta than what we see on average for last gen (where ps4 and xbone usually have a resolution delta but settings are around the same)

Now I wonder if this is full on GDK, because if yes, that is really good news for those worrying about the issues at launch.

What Im most shocked about that Hitman video is how damn good the game looks everywhere. Almost as if cross gen games isnt an issue to developers and is only twitter and reddit ammo.

Also another big win for the Series S for the people that keep thinking its weaker than the One X.

Hitman 3 looks gorgeous indeed but One X not having a performance mode (it was there in Hitman 2) and no HDR is kinda weird, who knows…maybe a day one patch will add those.

I believe they said that they are “fairly sure that the One S and One X don’t have HDR”, as well as base PS4. Series X has HDR

Oh, I stand corrected then

So, what’s the verdict for Hitman 3 between PS5 and Series X ?

Seems like series x has the advantage but thats just off that video I shared.

Honestly, this thread should be for all graphics comparisons, not just DF. They aren’t the only competent ones who do these types of comparisons.

it’s the first title we’ve seen where Microsoft’s additional hardware investment delivers a tangible spec increase over the competition in a cross-platform game.

Meanwhile, there are additional tweaks to shadow quality too. Series S uses the equivalent to PC’s low quality shadows (in common with the last-gen base console renditions of Hitman 3), while PlayStation 5 runs at medium (similar to One X and PS4 Pro) and Xbox Series X operates at high. The difference is fairly subtle across all three, but it’s there nonetheless.

Lmao

With that said, however, the lower resolution on PlayStation 5 is in no way a problem and still looks wonderful.

And yet there’s not an article about this yet on ResetERA… :chief_think:

Now this is the sort of delta I was expecting, which is pretty significant, was not expecting higher shadows on seriesX over PS5.

Welp, another game to add to the list:

Hitman 3 (Series X > PS5): Better AA, higher resolution, higher quality assets.
