Games Analysis |OT| Time To Argue About Pixels And Frames!

Good video worth a watch though as Oliver points out lots of caveats as it B roll but some interesting points.

Although I have to say DF 2022 - We want to see then end of pixel counting highlighting native resolution is just not valuable. DF2024 - Specifically combs through B-roll footage to find a tiny number of occurrences they can pixel count and highlights resolution.

Made me laugh so I posted it but please don’t use this as an excuse to start ranting about bias they’d do it to a PS title too.

Seriously all they could nitpick and complain about is the fact that it’s a single-player narrative driven game. And when Sony does it (with TLOU) it’s somehow a gamechanger. Couldn’t be a more biased review.

I don’t want to watch this… Are they really doing this ?

The last straw for me was Forza Motorsport… How could they not be considered fanboys is beyond me. Their videos are full of biased assessments hidden behind gaming jargon.

Decided to watch the vid to see if the posts were warranted and to my ā€œsurpriseā€, your post is making it sound way worse than what it is.

99% of the video was him fawning and praising what Hellblade 2 is bringing to the table.

No, they did not do any of that!

I only saw the usual suspects on YouTube and Twitter making fun of the resolution. Haven’t watched the video myself but if I’m to believe these clowns the resolution can go lower than 1080p. I highly doubt that.

Resolution doesn’t matter as much as before. Wasn’t Returnal resolution on PS5 pretty low too ? It didn’t get as much push back.

I watched part of the DF Preview video and it seems like they are looking for something to talk about, something contentious. I don’t know, they always seem less excited talking about Xbox games.

Alex @ DF seems to be pretty down on Hellblade 2… in the latest DF Direct he had lots of complaints about the preview. Combat looks bad, puzzles look bad, he ā€œdoesn’t get what you doā€ in the game… John seemed a little incredulous, he even asked Alex if he had played the first one, which Alex had, and John is like… It’s more of that… what is there not to understand?

DF’s hypocrisy knows no bounds when it comes to an xbox game. They are always extra hard. Commenting on a b-roll footage is lame.

Watching there console content has no meaning now.

I only look forward to Alex’s PC optimisation videos now. Rest console videos are just console wars stuff.

Exactly this.

That was quite easily the worst take I’ve ever seen on DF, I was stunned when he said he’d completed the first game because it blatantly sounded otherwise.

I’m sensing Hellblade 2 will be a 90MC game with certain quarters not understanding ā€œwhy.ā€ :sunglasses:

Don’t worry, reviewers will find a reason to keep it in the 80s.

Only released on Xbox, 30fps, no other first parties have released so far this year. 8/10

I can’t play it for 200 hours to say this game mid. So i will give it a low.

And if it’s too much like the first one. If the combat and puzzles haven’t changed enough. I can see that being a complaint.

The previews talked about how the combat has changed, harder hitting and more focused on what 1v1 can be.
