They didn’t change any slogan. Both were used interchangeably. Cached webpages have already shown that claims they changed their marketing are simply not true!
Just last week I saw an Xbox ad which still said most powerful console.
Also isn’t the GPU more powerful than the ps5?
WOW For real ? this shouldn’t be issue ? I won’t judge now and i will wait until 2021 but if this bottleneck really an issue in 2021 then MS needs Explanation on the most powerful console
Bottlenecks can typically be overcome though I believe with changes in workflow and/or software. You just have to account for the bottleneck.
I could be wrong though.
The GPUs both go for different ideas.
The PS5 runs at a higher clock but less CUs
The Series X runs at a lower clock with more CUs
On paper, the Series X should be better. In first hand experiences, it seems the opposite way around at the moment.
I’d like to imagine it’s all just learning experiences.
Also keep in mind, MOST of these differences nobody FUCKING noticed until DF pointed it out. 2k21 launched nearly a MONTH ago, and nobody said a damn thing about it until now.
It’s only AFTER the DF/NXGamer/VGTech comparsions come out do narratives start forming. These games are so similar that it only takes people who do it for a living to point it out.
If you should COD Ghosts on PS4 and OG Xbox One back in the day, the differences were clear. Now it’s “There’s a sllight 1 frame drop here and there for some reason, probably a bug, and if you tilt the camera this way at this angle yeah it goes down to 56FPS but it’s not noticable unless you have graphs”
NOBODY was making these “Xbox Series L” videos UNTIL the comparisons started. If the DF comparsion on this one didn’t come out nobody would be talking about this .
I love NXGamer, DF and all them, and I get they’re doing they’re jobs and earning money… But all this “harassed by fanboys” stuff is the direct result of their work. NOT BLAMING THE VICTIMS HERE.
That’s how close these are. If nobody pointed out the flaws, you wouldn’t notice them.
People say this but the Xbox one had fewer CUs clocked higher than the PS4. How did that help narrow the raw power gap?
There is no bottleneck

100% agree. In reality - these differences are so minor that it shouldn’t matter.(ignoring AC Valhalla launch tearing)
Yeah launch AC:V was bad, no doubt about it. But some of this other stuff is so not noticeable.
You sure? Something is clearly going on. It can’t all be tools and inexperiences.
Clearly however they are making the game on PS5 dosen’t translate well on to Series X|S at one point. Like maybe Alpha channels or something.
GPU, CPU and memory bandwidth allocated for graphics are more powerful on the Series X. In every other hardware comparison ever held in the world that would indicate the Series X is more powerful
Sure these first DF showings are odd but on a technical and factual basis the Series X is more powerful. What is done on the software is a different story.
Yep, the Xbox One had high freq GPU AND CPU compared to the PS4 but it did not help it at all
When you are talking such minor differences so far yea it can be the tools. Software drivers in PC graphic cards can easily swing performance 20% in any direction given the drivers being used, the differences we are talking about in these DF face offs is usually a dropped frame here and there, Dev tool efficiency can easily cause the current slight difference in some performance modes.
The Xbox One X also used higher clocks back in the day and I remember that the performance often exceeded what was on paper.
Until now AFAIK (correct me if I’m wrong) there wasn’t any talk about a bottleneck in the design of the GPU either on twitter by any devs or by the DF stuff, I would say that instead the opposite was implied by Alex from DF in various posts on otherera which hinted that the SX has the superior GPU. So yeah this new narrative that there are bottlenecks is totally unexpected…
I expect them to be virtually identical, because most developers are going to aim for parity. We will see what happens in a few years or so. But if the PS5 holds the majority of the market as expected expect third parties to continue to aim for parity.
Who gives a damn about 1 FPS???
You would be fucking surprised.
Imagine making a big deal out of 1fps, Jesus. This is nothing compared to AC Valhalla and even that wasn’t exactly the end of the world.
It would not surprise me if this is going to take a while. As much as it has been said about the tools, I don’t think anyone can deny that it is logic and common sense. It’s new for developers and even a bit challenging to do basic stuff according to a anonymous developer The Verge spoke of.
Hopefully it’s just a hurdle that developers have to overcome, get used to the new tools. If this is not the case I really doubt Xbox would have insisted with the GDK instead of sticking with XDK. Had they stuck with XDK they likely would have ended up taking the lead with all these so far released games. It’s unfortunate but we gotta trust that Xbox knew/knows what they’re doing.
But again, NBA 2K21 should not be a game to make a big deal out of comparison wise. If Twitter does that, that doesn’t surprise me at all.
A game nobody paid attention to until today.
There’s clearly no gpu bottleneck when in BC mode that still underutilize the gpu features its delivering twice the performance of X.
There is some issues with native games where this performance target isn’t met, when the expectations is that it should go even higher with all rdna2 architecture improvements being used. But seeing the performance in gcn mode and the performance improvements rdna 1 and 2 brought on PC there’s nothing to worry about, because whatever it is that is holding the performance back is clearly software related and will be solved.
