After several hours of playing I gotta disagree with those that said quality mode is the way to go. I could not adjust to the 30fps, even when I was just driving around and not even panning the camera i noticed the blur, which you naturally don’t in performance mode.
I really tried, but performance mode is my jam all the way, it’s just such a ridiculous difference, so big for me that I’ll accept a few bushes here and there popping up more often.
So…
Performance mode > quality mode
And I’m a lover, not a fighter but if I have to…let’s fight!
The game reverted to quality when I loaded the game back up and I immediately noticed it and switched it back. It’s great for the people who can tolerate 30fps l, but for me 60fps is a must when the option is there.
The radios are fine. It has never been the music I listen to, far from it tbh, but they always select music that is easy to listen as a background. 5 have some great tunes and I begin to enjoy some of the songs.
The hosts though…They are not funny, but I guess its part of the charm. It wouldn’t be a Horizon game without bad radio hosts !
It’s great to have options, truly hope Fable will have that too, but for that I might opt for 30fps since you will be moving so much slower, and I probably can bear it more. Here it’s just an eye sore for me, could not adjust to it.
It’s possible that it’s not only just more pop in and that there’s also less foliage in some areas overall, but you can’t switch between the two modes on the fly, so it’s very hard to check that out.
It seems fine during the races. However, there are times I find it distracting in free roam, but in very specific scenarios. Otherwise, I have been able to tolerate it for the most part.
As nice as the Quality mode looks, the motion fidelity in Performance Mode is enough for me to play it that way imo.
I gotta thank you for this, because this made an immense difference!
I guess I like the colours more vibrant and almost over the top, because I watched some clips on YouTube and by default I just find it looking so colourless, so drab, the foliage especially. I guess it’s more realistic, but give me that deep green any day.
I put saturation to max, which seemed great in some jungles but overall a bit too much. A few nodges back and it’s great.
Yeah, as others have said, the music in this series isn’t among the best in gaming, but there are some good tracks in amongst the rough. They really need a playlist station (think Saints Row) so you can collate the tracks you do like.
If I’m playing for a longer session I stream my own music from Spotify to my headset. I can take the ingame radio in small doses, but man… is this what people listen to? Yikes.
