Forza Horizon 5 |OT| All Roads Lead To Mexico

I’m probably going to leave Dolby Vision and HDR10 off with this one. As soon as I started playing something looked off. Colours didn’t seem to pop as much as they should. I notice it especially in forest and jungles, green is just a bit too washy, if that’s the right wordt. For some reason Dolby Vision takes all the colours away, whereas with SDR it’s deep, vibrant green.

A shame because I’ve been a big Dolby Vision fan so far. This is why I really wish more studios added in in-game HDR on/off toggles.

Naw I just downloaded it lmao

They wish.

They need someone with more culture to curate the soundtrack.

Some dreadful music on the radio stations lol.

Have you gone into the saturation settings at all?

Yes it’s awful! Forza Horizon 1 is the best by far. The soundtracks been getting worse with each game since.

Fr. Just buy EA and have their licensing gods work on getting good ass soundtracks for Forza

It’s legit one of the worst soundtracks I’ve heard in an open world game that has radio stations.

I did not mess with that yet. What do you have these set to? I got both at default right now.

this is disappointing to hear smh, I thought FH4 was boring, and hoped for FH5 to do better, but seemingly it doesn’t?

Licensed OSTs took amazing form in the Black Box Era NFS, and peaked in Sleeping Dogs. FIFA still has dope soundtracks too though. I’m telling you, EA just knows what’s up.

Ok then.

Forget what I said. Lol

Mine is on default and looks fine. I think you might need to mess with yours though because what you describe doesn’t make sense.

Yeah the songs are just shit to be honest, well, the ones I’ve heard. Some cool ones but majority seems just bad. The main theme is so fucking good, truly beautiful and first time launching the game in the prologue the first song you hear once you drive next to that volcano just fucking sucks… absolutely horrible, well for me it was.

Now I truly wish we could still have a radio station of our own, even if it had issues.

daamn.

And regarding our own stations, IIRC finally, there is apparently an option to mute music completely to zero? That’s a decent stand-in where we could put our own Spotify/youtube playlists in the back. Only thing is they wouldn’t phase in and out with cutscenes and stuff, but I guess that’s the price you gotta pay to not listen to the game’s OST lmao

You can change music volume all down to zero, sadly you will never hear the beautiful main menu theme either anymore, I wish that song was on the radio, unless it is and I just haven’t heard it. It’s so chill, so relaxing, perfectly fits the game and atmosphere it’s going for.

And yeah, own music via Spotify etc is possible, but like you said, it’ll continue playing during cutscenes and stuff, far from ideal. I honestly would pay a little extra money to have this option in the game and also for games like GTA. Our own station, music only plays when driving.

The amount of anime designs in the recommended designs section is worrying :giphy:

Is it just me or is the pop-in when in performance mode distracting? I feel like I never noticed it in other games, but definitely way more apparent here.

May switch to quality and see if that is less distracting.

It can in freeroam but not in racing, because I am distracted by the actual race.

It is something worth to keep in mind with the insistance from a lot of people for games to target 60fps, because in an open world game that is probably going to require more agressive drawing in of assets.
