Are you guys getting a lot of disconnects or not that bad? I hope all goes well Tuesday when tons and tons of people connect all at the same time.

Really? And then you go back to solo/offline mode? Right now there’s only those who bought the premium edition and reviewers, I hope they are ready for the storm of players Tuesday.

There’s some really cool stuff better not known beforehand. Trust me.

The funny thing about all the complaining about the early access is that we are beta testing it and hammering the servers so that Tuesday will hopefully go more smoothly.
It’s been pretty much 100% network disconnects for me.

Worst case scenario it’s pretty bad at launch but such things will always smoothen themselves out after a while. I know of very few online games, big ones that launched flawlessly in terms of disconnecting and what not. EA being one for example, lol.
But that doesn’t mean it can’t go well, hopefully it will.

Lots of disconnects. I hope they increase their server capacity asap or the official launch will be even worse.
Its like FH4 in that regard, you get lots of NPC cars if you are in Horizon Solo mode and way less if you are in a multiplayer session (the default).
Yeah, i noticed when I play solo there is traffic, but again I want to play online lol.
Im still getting d/c every minute or so, guess its because im in Brazil and the gamr is connecting to the US-east server. I hope when the game officially launch they open servers in Brazil (age4 have serves in brazil and halo infinite beta had too)
Yes, I know how it is supposed to work. Thing is, there is less cars than in FH4 in both modes. It might be because the servers are hammered and I keep getting bounced between them. Maybe it’s just how the map is and it’s a matter of perception, idk.

While it’s an amazing game so far, they still have problems with the AI.
2 or 3 vanish while you get through the the rest and then i spend the rest of the race trying to catch up. It also never seems to matter what cars the AI use they always drive the same even if its a road car in a jungle race.

I always wonder why studios/companies keep struggling with this. EA to this day has server issues on day one of BF games, CoD I haven’t bought in ages, no idea. But you’d think they can make it so that it can easily handle huge amounts of players, especially with Game Pass now I’d hope they realize that they gotta be ready for that storm, lol.
The internet in its current form is a complex construct and only increasing you server capacity is maybe insufficient. Maybe this is not the bottleneck but traffic routing overall? Could also just be bugs

I was hoping they would be more subtle, asking questions… I mean, it’s okay to talk about how this kind of paying early access could be normalized in the future for big Xbox games.
I’m not an expert, but a big launch like FH5 is tricky because of the massive wave of players connecting to the servers for the first time. So you have all that data that has to be created on top of sessions being created and people playing. Also servers have to properly communicate with each other, ect. That’s like a DDOS attack in itself.
Azure is among the best services at mitigating these kind of attacks on servers, so they know how to handle that, but problems are inevitable. Thankfully, they have that solo mode.
