i agree, there are cool Super 7 creations but finding them is unnecessary hard. I think they need more search criteria, like difficulty, stunts, etc.
This is ridiculous. Playgrounds doing the lords work.
next live stream is about engine sounds on Monday next week
This game looks unbelievable.
itās a shame they didnāt manage to get RT into the gameplay, I believe in the next incarnation
Itās why Iām okay with them not going to Japan/Asia with 5 because it gives them even more time with the tech to improve. Imagine flying through all the streets with neon signs and stuff all ray-traced. Itās gonna be glorious!
The game still looks phenomenal with just screen space reflections. Almost nobody can tell itās not RT.
The game is still cross-gen, might receive an update later.
I feel RT is gonna be the big core feature of the Forzatech revamp that Turn10 is busy with. FH5 despite how good it looks is still crossgen and is more of an upgrade of the FH4 engine more so than a radical evolution of the engine that FM8 is gonna bring. FH6 is gonna 100% have RT though, perhaps even in 60fps.
To be honest, I thought the lighting to be pretty good already that RT is not necessary here.
I havent even played FH2 but I hear a loooot of people echoing this sentiment and the same points in this video. I think @Shpeshal_Nick has said the same thing a few times in the podcast.
Even though I havenāt played the earlier FH games to have context, I indeed have played FH4 and I largely agree with the core that the game severely lacks a good sense of progression. It just drops you into the game and kinda just hands everything to you right away at the start and just overwhelms you with the map and hundreds of icons that you have no idea how to approach.
I can play FH4 for hours and hours and not feel like Iāve made any progress towards anything, it just ends up being aimless driving through pretty locations and occasional unlock of one or two cars/events, etc. It sucks because the core gameplay loop is solid and it gets most things right but the progression needs work (and engine sounds from what I hear several people complain about, which I think will be addressed today in a livestream?)
So yeah, I really hope FH5 solves this issue given how they promise a deeper and more āadventurousā campaign this time around. Itās just annoying when NFS games from almost two decades ago provided better progression systems than a flagship industry leading series like Forza Horizon today. Hereās hoping.
FH4 has like tens of different progressions meters for everything from racing series to drift mastery. Sure they are all meaningless, but so is beeing a Forza Horizon Champion in FH2. FH4 also has a lot of cars behind harder requirements than anything i can remember from FH2. Try getting the '73 Ford Capri FE in FH4.
The latest update was amazing, so many improvements and new additions to audio (hello raytraced audio). The lead audio designer was also great, you could see the that there is real passion for cars and audio.
It looks and sounds nuts, loved the new gameplay.
Raytracing outside Forzavista confirmed for audio, nice. I hope they rerecorded all inline 6 engines from BMW (i saw at least a E90 in the video), some sounded off in FH4.
Looks amazing. I am LOVING the choice of Mexico as a setting, so much visual variety and itās really distinct from past Forza settings.
The level of detail that these guys put into everything is just crazy, literally recording audio from each car going around a track instead of just the standard acceleration recorded audio.
I havenāt caught up on the stream yet but read some comments on reddit that lead to this Instagram link of some different engine sounds. Sounding pretty good.
Holy shit Playground. Like, nah, itās not enough to have a drop dead gorgeous game. Itās not enough to have a great playing game with a fantastic world. No, you listen to the one complaint from a small vocal minority, the sound, and yāall take it as a challenge and record accurate to the detail audio. Holy shit.
If this isnāt in GOTY talks, then weāve collectively lost the plot. Looks un-friggen-believable. This and Halo should be a godly 1-2 holiday punch.
I was like : āyeah, of course it will sound great, itās a Forza gameā. But then I listened to the small clips they showed. Pfewww, it sounds incredible, like way better than even FH4 it seems, which already sounded great.
So if I understood that right : the sounds are now played in a granular manner ? That means that the game plays thousand of sounds samples instead of a loop track for engine sounds now. That sounds crazy !
And RT audio.
Edit : and uncompressed audio on Series X|S.
