Looks almost like ketchup which would be very Japanese.
The colour almost looks like Frank’s Red Hot sauce…

It looked like Franks to me too 
I am not ashamed to say I too have used franks when the cupboard was bare as somethign to moisten my (potatoes, rice, pasta, etc.)
That looks lovely, I have never made banana bread, I have always threatened to though, hundreds of times, then just binned the bananas.

I made some hot sauce tonight for day to day spiciness.
Mango lime and habenero
Everything chopped then blended up, brought to the boil and then poured into jars. Lovely as a chicken leg/wing marinade or eaten on everything ever.
