Anyone having issue when changing live time and weather? Everytime I try to change the time the game overrides my changes and gets it back to live time. Really annoying, I have no idea what is causing this.
I’m fine with that, but the Southern Hemisphere really needs some love asap. The game’s World Map is starting to look ridiculous with all those POIs in the north while there is a giant blank space in the south
No problems on my side regarding weather. The game did crash on me in the end of a long flight… again
Wish I could trigger the speed up mode between flights without my airplane crashing down into the middle of the Atlantic.
I didn’t even figure out how speed up works yet. Do I have to assign a button somewhere?
Yes its called sim rate increase and sim rate decrease.
Crazy that I could take off from the small airport in my city, a small city located in Brazil. The city was fully there, not the best satelite image quality, but really impressive the scope of this game. Now, im studying to do a full cessna 152 take off.
Reinstalling the game after I pretty much concluded that weather settings and live weather must be absolutely broken for me, hopefully it’ll be better now.
Edit: I’m really disappointed, it hasn’t changed a thing, the weather aspect of the game is completely broken for me, the game is basically Clear Skies Flight Simulator because that’s the weather profile the game is constantly defaulting to, it’s really annoying and kills the simulation aspect of the game for me. Without a good weather simulation this game loses a huge part of the appeal for me and I will take a break from this game until this is fixed. This makes me really sad because I was enjoying it so much
Did you play in an online session since launch? I think I’ve read the weather/time is defaulting every time to the weather/time of your last group session
I did, yes. But the issue I currently have is this one:
It defaults to Clear Skies no matter what.
Maybe that’s the reason, I have to study a way to fix it with one of my friends, maybe if we are in a group and they define the weather as live? I have to see, but I have stopped playing until a fix (mine, or Asobo’s).
That’s odd. If I have to guess it might have something to do with online sessions. I’ve been messing around with the weather for achievements reasons during autopilot (setting it to a rainy night), and I constantly go back to live weather when I just want to enjoy the flight – no problems on my end.
I’ve been playing solo since the Xbox release (clocked in 50 hours so far).
Those planes are quite expensive, huh?
The assumptions about console players (and consoles themselves) I’ve read on the official MFS forums are really something else. Lots of doom posts about how the introduction of Xbox to the skies has destroyed the game for PC players and talk of lawsuits against MS.
Yep, I’ve been browsing the forums lately and it’s really hostile towards Xbox players at the moment.
From what I’ve seen, the problems on PC with Sim Update 5 seems more to do with Azure server issues (maybe related to launch week of the Xbox version overloading the servers) rather than an intentional graphical “downgrade” on PC. MS should probably invest more into the data centers if so.
That’s why I stick to console gaming. I load up a game and I know it will work exactly like it’s supposed to work. It might be buggy, but I’ll know it’s the game’s fault – no need to dive deep into the console’s settings.
Just out of curiosity, MFS had ~15,000 tracked players on TrueAchievements the night before the game released on Xbox.
It now has almost 52,000 players.
