Wow …amazing pics !
All you guys posting pictures and enjoying the game while I’m just sitting here away from my Series X for another 10 days.
I use the Thrustmaster Hotas flightstick for Xbox (was 99€ or something). Its get the job done and works and feels way better than the controller for sure but the plastic build quality is not spectacular and the throttle coud be more stiff. Getting A scores on all challenges will still be not easy
I have already linked some articles about peripherals in the FAQ in the first post if you want to read more about the other more expensive options.
I just had a new update for the game and now for some reason it isn’t 60fps anymore but VRR on Xbox IS enabled.
Anyone else noticing this as well? Yesterday when I was flying around Bora Bora it was smooth as hell, feels locked to 30fps now.
I started an 8-hours flight yesterday (from Asobo HQ to Microsoft HQ).
Two hours in I went to sleep and left the game on Quick Resume. Played a bit more today when I woke up, then left the game on Quick Resume again since I had to leave the house.
I came back, turned my Xbox on and the game was updating. I lost my progress
Might be worth reporting on the Flight Sim forums.
I’m fully immersed with it damn hope they add some missions. I want also the heli ASAP.
Finally started to get a handle on the mechanics and did my first completed flight from the West Coast of Scotland to the Isle of Man, although the landing could still use some work lol.
It is super relaxing and satisfying when you start to figure out what all the buttons are for .
FYI
Flight Sims UI is a Web Browser
Loads of fun facts in that interview. For instance, Direct Storage API and Hardware decompression is used in Xbox Series consoles to stream data from airports among other things.
And of course, there’s the web browser used in cockpit!
Sounds like there’s more potential to increase performance on consoles (?). Right now, Mesh shaders and other features of DX12 aren’t fully used. Either way its a great port and a great interview.
After completing most tutorials (some of them I can’t get an A at, let alone complete ), I will know start my first flight on my own, from Lisbon to Porto going through the beautiful Atlantic coast of my country Portugal on a Cessna 152
Autopilot could use some work. The AI crashed my plane on a hill when I was only 400km away from my destination in a 9000km flight. Lost 13 hours of progress
The auto-pilot is awful and always puts my plane into weird steep angles, I hate it! I’m afraid to even bring the cursor because I know the auto-pilot will screw up my current heading, attitude and vertical speed
Completely off-topic, but it’s incredible how far translation tools have come. This polish website translated to Brazilian Portuguese reads much better than many Brazilian websites out there lol
Staying on topic, I’ve noticed that many third-party DLCs are available only on the PC marketplace, so it seems it already is a different game. It is also listed differently on the Microsoft Store when compared to other Play Anywhere titles
Meh, maybe there is something legit this time, but the Flight Sim community is very hardcore. Almost every big update makes certain people unhappy, but especially at first because any big update causes things to break because of how massive the sim is. And sometimes they can’t catch everything because of that as well. I have a feeling in this case it might be worse because they probably weren’t able to get through all the known issues since they needed the update to make the console release.
As a recap we have so far:
World Updates
Out now:
- World Update 1: Japan (September 9, 2020)
- World Update 2: United States (November 24, 2020)
- World Update 3: United Kingdom & Ireland (February 16, 2021)

Future plans:
Jorg Neumann confirmed during E3 there is one more World Update coming this year (besides the August one), and another six updates scheduled for 2022. If we use the last World Updates as a parameter, we will probably have World Update 7 by the end of October / beginning of November. It could be released alongside the Top Gun expansion or maybe a couple of weeks earlier.
Handcrafted Airports
** Airports in red will be released via World Update VI in August. There is at least one more German airport in the works for the update.

Excluding Chinese and Russian airports (which can be a pain), the game has the majority of 2020’s busiest airports handcrafted (although many of them are locked behind a Deluxe/Premium paywall).
The most notable absences are Indira Gandhi International Airport (India), Istanbul Airport (Turkey), Mexico City International Airport (Mexico), Jeju International Airport (South Korea), São Paulo/Guarulhos International Airport (Brazil).
