It is starting to look like Final Fantasy (new games) are going to avoid the Xbox possibly completely at this point. Sony has to have some kind of deal in place

Such a fucking shame this new development. I was so happy with how Xbox last year got to announce several older FF games, and of course in 2019 FF14. We got FF15 on day one too.
It’s crystal clear something brought a big change in that and it’s not only SE’s doing, of that I’m very sure. Because of all the other games I thought FF7R would be a given…but here we are.

If this is true I’m in favor of never funding a single square Enix game to go to xbox in the future, fund all other Japanese studios and let square dry up with only playstation spring. They were already among the worst publishers in terms of sales in Japan this past year.
No problem. I am patient, but the complete loss of Final Fantasy would seriously piss me off. On top of the FFXIV news, this doesn’t seem too far fetched. It’s like SE has simply decided to back Sony to the exclusion of everything else at this point …

Sometimes I just don’t get that company at all. They did finally bring Dragon Quest to Xbox, and we also got Nier Automata and we’ll get the remaster of that other one too.
Yeah, at this point it’s clear what is going on now. If this is Sony’s way to “counter” Bethesda, when even so few details are even known…then…lol.
Probably of the increasing chance that FF7R won’t come to Xbox, and if it does it’ll be another year of waiting. Just like FF16, isn’t that a two year exclusive (LMAO)? At this point these games might as well be exclusive because I’ll have them bought for PS5 by then, once I get one.

And blaming it on Sony would make sense, on the other hand I’m like…would they be this petty? It’s not like the franchise sells gangbusters on Xbox.

Fuck FF and Fuck square, Luckily I grew out of these games in the 90’s. MS should buy ubisoft as a counter, let Sony have FF and Square as a whole for all I care.
It’s not about being petty, it’s about keeping games off your competitors platform.
And a PlayStation under Jim Ryan had me worried. He can’t even keep messaging straight for the brand.
“We believe in generations” - for the most part, follows Xbox’s approach with everything but Demons Souls coming to PS4, including Horizoj 2 and maybe GoW5.
I just hope things stay as they were for them during PS4 where they were constantly churning out hits (for the most part, RIP Predator: Hunting Grounds and The Order 1886).
Yoshida has been spitting bullshit excuses for this game not to be on Xbox for so long that is crystal clear that it was paid by Sony to not come on Xbox a long time ago as well.
