Sorry , can’t really think of any off the top of my head.
Hori will most likely release some Xbox fighting pads next year due to the release of SF6, the bad thing with pads though is that they don’t last long so be prepared to replace it some time in the future. High quality sticks on the other hand can work fine years and years later, they are much much more durable overall. A good arcade stick will cost you more than a good pad but it will be worth the investment in the long run.
Didn’t get in unfortunately. Hopefully there is an open beta in the near future.
6 months till release means there is a very big chance there will be .
Hori has already released a fight stick and fight pad for Xbox Series consoles. The hori octa and hori alpha (stick)
Υeah and probably more pads/sticks will be released next year because of SF6. Also since I don’t have either of those or read anything about their quality I can’t recommend them or not, the post above was clearly my opinion about fighting pads vs arcade sticks.
Some thoughts on the SF6 Beta:
-
I have to get use to it but I’m feeling the Drive System. It’s nice to have access to all of your tools right away, but at the same time, you have to manage your resources properly as not to lose them.
-
Similar to all my time playing III, I find parrying to be nigh useless (but that’s just me ).
-
Drive Impact is actually not as good as one might think. Is it spamable? Very. Is it good? Yes. Is it too good? Actually no. It is quite reactable. The only time it is very dangerous is when you or your opponent is stuck in the corner.

Now on to my major criticism - the characters feel a bit weighty. Not quite sluggish but almost like an MK character. The two I used the most so far are Guile & Ryu and both of them have that feeling. I played a couple with Jaime and Kimberly and they felt more snappy. So, the weigty feeling is probably on purpose.

Another design decision I’m neutral on is the seemingly lack of pressure. On one hand, it is easy to get out of a sticky situation thanks to most buttons being minus on block. On the other hand, the lack of button pressure has led to a lot of throw & DI spam, so far.
Do you recommend the Octa?
Yes, I’ve had no complaints here so far. Owned it for about 4 months. Be sure to install the software on your pc so you can change the controller pre sets.
EDIT: One more clip, I swear
Stick a fork in it, I’m done
Closing thoughts: The Drive System is EXTREMELY important for every character… except Guile. He plays really weird with it, so to speak. He is all around good without the Drive System (unlike some characters) but he somehow suffers from IV’s Focus Attack Syndrome AND benefits from V-esque V System shenanigans. It’s… odd.
As for my main, Ryu, you have to be on point with the meter management to win. You also have to abuse certain normals (F+HP, cr.MK, and F+HK) to get far. Making him harder to use than Guile and feel somewhat sluggish.
For fun, here’s a matchup for Ryu:
Beats: Ken, Jamie, Luke (although, barely saw him)
Neutral: Chun-Li, Guile (unless you try to get in a fireball war), Ryu (of course)
Loses: Kimberly, Juri

I really, REALLY, liked the feel once I started proactively using the Drive System. This game, more so than V or III, WANTS you to be aggressive.

Kimberly or Guile is the best of the beta cast. Jamie is the worst.
Great to hear positive feedback on the game. SFV had a rough start, though eventually found its footing. Now that Capcom is back to its vintage stage, so as SF. If it wasn’t coming to Xbox, I would have been upset. Thankfully, it is and I can’t wait to get back on it.
Hoping for bbtag, bbcf, p4ua, vf5 esports edition, dnf duel, gbvs, kof02um, and kof98umfe to come to xbox in 2023
ArcSys had a little show recently and I thought maybe they would give us a little more info about the Xbox versions of Strive and BBTag. I didn’t watch it and didn’t hear much about what happened so im guessing all they talked about were patch notes for Strive and DNF.

Can’t believe this wasn’t posted?
Anywho, movement looks great in game: hops, super jumps, jumps, dashes, wavedashes etc.
This might be the only game to come gamepass on console from that Riot deal. And with perks like all the characters unlocked or something like that.
Actually looks cool. Maybe this will be the shake up the FGC needs.
Guilty gear strive crossplay beta is up on xbox and ms store.
Open beta?
yeah, it’s available for download, but starts tomorrow.
Man… The network beta for Strive ended Sunday night but I still wanna play more of it. Was only able to play a couple hours but it was fun being able to play Guilty Gear again. My first match I got completely washed by a Ky player but after some time of playing I made some progress and managed to land a little combo.
Now I just need ArcSys to hurry with that port. I wanna practice some sick combos lol.
