Extas1s: claims to know the Xbox Ally Release date and price

Those prices seem about right considering what’s in these things. I’m sure people will be mad about it since Xbox is in the name though. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Big if true, that’s great. I mean the highest one is expected but the marketing one is rather damn good. All Xbox has to do is market the shit out of it.

P.S. I think the name is more based off One line-up instead of Series line-up, but yeah I see your point.

the X is roughly $100 less than what you’d think, maybe even more. the Z2 extreme is far more expensive to manufacture than the Z1 version.

True, but I thought we all were assuming it would be cheaper because it was a partnered device. I honestly though it would be $600 for the Ally and $800 for the Ally X. It does make sense for the Ally to be $500 though since It’s relatively similar to a Steam Deck.

Now, to convince my wife I need an Ally X… :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Xbox One S

I get that, but there’s an Xbox One, no letter after. I mean they can do a refresh and call it S if the product is successful.

Right, it was Xbox One, Xbox One S then Xbox One X.

The naming is still wrong.

I suppose. Just have to market it as a handheld, not accessory.

For me all they have to say for marketing: The brand new Xbox PC handheld, Play Anywhere on the Go!

From there show off each the handheld like:

Xbox: ROG Ally and Xbox: ROG Ally X, this way they can continue with Xbox: Series S and Xbox: Series X type of branding. Where Xbox is the name and Series or Ally or whatever branding third parties want to use. Is the model.

The rumoured price isn’t bad

Wouldn’t say it’s excellent either Was hoping at best a 500€ price, which could be the case for the legion go on steamos releasing later this year

Anyway I am waiting a bit to see how far Xbox/Microsoft is committed to increase the play anywhere library (what about all the call of duty made by Activision, a owned microsoft entity, which has still not put older call of duty on gamepass ?)

I feel that the price is £100 too high from making it a real deal-breaker and coming in at a price point people couldn’t ignore. This is now strictly for the die-hards, which was probably its target market anyway.

It’s based on ASUS’ existing branding. (“Ally” and “Ally X” are their current handhelds.)

The prices, if true, are almost exactly as I expected. Personally, I’m still eyeing the Lenovo Legion Go S instead. Just waiting for a bit of a sale on that one…

Handhelds aren’t subsidized and never will be, they’re not popular enough. I don’t expect under the TV consoles to be subsidized much in the future, either. The Switch 2 is a different class of product that Nintendo isn’t losing money on, as is.

October release works well for me. I will preorder the $499 version and give it to my son for his 10th birthday in November. Definitely going to get a dock too so we can play it on living room TV.
