They updated with new cases but no ruling yet. May go live with the daily news or a separate press release. It’s 4am. I’m overcaffeinated and high on adrenaline, excitement and fear. I just hope we find out soon.
Its probably going to be a press release. There is another case with the same deadline that also hasn’t been updated.
Lmao I thought the same but in my case it is Sekiro and I wanna see more of Elden Ring!!!
(Off topic)
I’m seeing comments like “knowing the EU, I don’t think they will.”
Or. “a US tech company and the EU, doesn’t fill me with confidence”
And apparently they still have to fill in all kinds of paperwork before they will start talking about it. I wonder where people get their info from.
Man let this shit finally be done. EU hopefully just approves. I’d like to think MS knew what they were doing when they kinda early announced the Bethesda acquisition.
Haha that’s my comment “US tech company and the EU doesn’t fill me with confidence “ with the problems Facebook Apple google are having with EU at moment and on top of the the US and EU are in a mini trade war with airbus getting state aid there is a small chance that there could be a problem but I think it most probably go through no problem
Ah, I see the edit now.
I don’t know why two of them seem to think EU won’t approve. When Activision went for Blizzard, it was approved immediately or was investigation done first?
No the tech company one
They wouldn’t have announced this with such fanfare if they was any chance of failure. I guess anything is possible but in a world where Disney merged with Fox, I don’t see the EU being a roadblock.
Yeah, I just read your edit, haha.
Oh boy, so we’re not there yet. Still, for MS to make that announcement so early, they must have been pretty sure of their case.
Two things…maybe you know this:
What if they don’t approve, it’s over? Or will a investigation start first? And if that doesnt end well. Can MS do something about that?
And especially this, why the hell does the EU have the final say when it’s two American companies?
This! But boy we’ll be glad when this is all done with. First let’s get this done with, then we’ll get to the details of everything else.
I think it will pass fine.
The thing with EU is that its attitude to american companies depends whether they need some money or not.
It just sucks that Zenimax was doing such awful anti-consumer BS in recent years to make up for their general lack of success, that it eventually came back to bite them in the ass at the most pivotal time lol. I think the EU regulation is gonna pass, it’s the damn lawsuits and shit that are gonna be a bit more finicky unless they specifically targeted Zenimax at the right time to gouge out as much money as possible from the lawsuit and MS would feel like ah fuck it let’s just settle them some buttload of cash if it comes to that rather than having this deal to postpone for indefinite amounts of time.
It will go through there has been no problems yet but you never know with EU but if there was a problem MS can appeal in European court they need to get permission to do business in the EU if the EU found a problem in the future with xbox they could just pull there permission like what the US done with tic tok
I think it’ll be just fine really.
Thank God this part of the deal will be over soon, next week we’ll have some good stuff.
Nah, that recent event won’t affect it in a slightest because I 100% they knew about that lawsuit - after all MS has one of the biggest amount of lawyers. Not to mention no way MS would pay 1 bil. over that stuff LMAO
There is a reason why the lawsuit goes after Zenimax rather than MS in the first place, because they know that MS with its army of lawyers will destroy them easily.
I have a feeling there won’t be any announcements from Microsoft today because it’s Friday they’ll probably do it on Monday. They want this news to go through a whole week
That lawsuit is probably either going to be settled very quietly or the Judge won’t see a path to restitution because it’s virtual goods and looking at it analytically, it was bad wording on Bethesda’s part.
Our esteemed website leaders are feeling brave, anyway
It’s also worth noting that they hadn’t actually filed any sort of injunction or anything like that when the article came out, it was all hot air
Yeah, I have read that it doesn’t seem like any paperwork has been filed in regards to it as of yet. A judge may not look favourably on it, if it ever does come, just on the basis of how long it has taken to file an injunction viewing it as nuisance tactic rather than anything of real legal substance.
I don’t expect to hear anything about this till maybe next week. This is boring bureaucracy working.
