Epic Games v. Apple Court Case - Law & Order Special Episode

For all the talk about xCloud and Game Pass subscriptions on PC, I think Xbox hardware remains an important pillar for Microsoft. It drives me crazy how some people on gaming forums have said Xbox hardware is irrelevant TO Microsoft, when it’s at least one of 3 main pillars along with Game Pass and PC.

This is hilarious. Tim writing about enjoying the firework but my guess is that everyone is pissed at the whole situation.

This is not news. Anyone who has been following Xbox for the past few years knew this would be their aim. It’s been said countless times. It’s obvious.

Xbox console will be important to Xbox as long as xCloud is around considering Xbox consoles are powering it.

Sony are being quite agressive with them investing like $1/2 billion in epic, and thats fine, ms are being more agressive one could argue with the billions and billions they are spending.

However I think sony is better off buying devs like insomniac, trying to control or prevent huge multiplat games like fortnite is more agressive and only will motivate MS to be more agressive which is a battle sony cant win. I mean microsoft could invest $2 billion in epic games tomorrow voiding any leverage sony has over epic and thus pretty wasting there 1/2 billion investment, using that 1/2 billion to buy devs like bluepoint, playdead, thatgamecompany etc would be a far better use of that money.

Lmao what the fuck, they’re asking if a console is a portable device and if you can access your bank on the console while at the doctors office…

EDIT: now they’re asking if you can use a console with a joystick on a different floor

Still highly skeptical Nintendo would allow it. MS would have to fork over boatloads of cash and make it a very streamlined GP variant imho. Do wanna say that the whole ‘good guy Phil’ meme seemingly lines up nicely with this message as he comes off super nice.

Lawyers got to lawyer and ask obtuse questions to get details entered on the record in order to be considered by the judge and jury, they can’t assume everyone involved has any level of familiarity or knowledge.

It would be 1st party games only.

And this is where the idea falls flat in my opinion. As big as Xbox first party is, I still think they cannot support a subscription service on their own and needs 3rd party content to expand the offerings. It is either the full console Game Pass or none at all in my opinion.

Well that would be part of the appeal of getting a Xbox, you get access to more, also pricing would be different too. Microsoft clearly needs to pull this bandaid off fast if people still can’t see what’s going to happen.

I am well aware what is happening, you only need to read my previous post here lol. I just don’t think it would be a particularly great product if it is just 1st party content because you will be looking at probably one new release a month at best and if you don’t like it then too bad.

Sounds like a perfect reason to buy a Xbox then :stuck_out_tongue: obviously it won’t be as good but if these players have never played a Xbox before there are tons of Xbox exclusives on there they could play today. It might not be monthly games yet but there will be. Could be another reason why they’re doing FPS boost and other BC things to make the games look and run better so when people play the older exclusives they don’t play/look as bad.

This all comes down to if Sony and Nintendo will allow it and I think Nintendo has probably signed something already with the Switch on the shelf. Phil wouldn’t tease something like that if it wasn’t all signed imo.

I am just thinking in terms of Game Pass and selling and keeping people subscribed to it that’s all .

Yeah, and from Phil’s email they have discussed it but Nintendo and Sony knocked Microsoft back as of August. I do think Nintendo could potentially be swayed, but there is no chance with Sony in my opinion.

Lmao.

access to customers is better than no access even if none subscribe, it’s the chance of gaining a sub that’s the lure and you never know something like SoT could be enough for someone to stay locked in for a while. Also remember Xbox is highly focused on MP so only having a few MP games a year could be enough.

I honestly think Switch might be locked in now or at least very close for Phil to tease it, they could be announcing this at E3.

Interesting.

So Phil want to get rid of gold and Xcloud on all consoles. Not that we didn’t know that already, but nice seeing an actual email from him confirming.

And he talks in the emails just as he does in public, with the same ideas behind.

Yep, totally the same response from Ms and Sony on that matter /s

Phil is the real deal.
