Final boss tips? I don’t know if I can get them with my current setup. I’m a high int astrologer and been relying heavy on carian slicer.

I’m back on ER now after getting near 1000/1000 on SoP. I’m done with that average game tbh. Fun while it lasted but got boring.

I’m now an Elden Lord? 60 hours to see it through. Great game, thanks all for the help and advice along the way.

Philden Ring

Im running out of gas on this. Im at the final boss and have got killed by it a bunch of times, I just dont think I have the drive to finish it.

Man I Finally beat the Elden Beast! Must have taking me 40 tries before I took him down. I beat him this morning with no damage taken…. Surprisingly. A good mix of luck and repetition after so many attempts. Those gold holy/lightning bolt things that chase you are totally OP!

The Carian armour + Hoarfrost Stomp Ash of War and Elden Ring Black Knife Tiche done the trick.

A few more achievements to go and I think I’ll put it down for awhile whilst I work on my Game Pass backlog.

This vid popped up in my recommendeds this morning lol. Never watched so many soulslike vids until this game but im getting recommended Bloodborne vids now.

Guy ā€œnopedā€ out of that too hard

Bloodborne has a lot of these ā€œoh hell naaaaaaw I’m outā€ moments lmfaoooo

have you seen the one where the guy goes down a well and sees that monstrosity waiting on the roof of it?

Yeah lol. Nasty looking things looking dead straight at him.

I’ve seen one clip for Sekiro with a giant snake… I haven’t played it but it would be enough to keep me out of that whole area.

haven’t played Fromsoft’s best game, damn :eyes:

the snake isn’t that terrifying imo, there are other places in the game though where it does have some proper nope moments

Even better than Elden Ring? I guess I got some work to do after I finish it

well it depends on what kind of combat you like. The more meticulous stamina based, build based combat of the souls games or the very focused, fast paced, mastery based combat of Sekiro. I prefer Sekiro’s combat any day of the week. There’s an element of mastery to that game that you cannot escape or find your way around which once you ā€œgetā€, every other melee based game just feels lacking lol. You can’t cheese as much, you can’t be overleveled, you can’t summon, you can’t rely on stats and weapon builds, it’s just you and the sword for the most part, and so much has been explored just within that. Despite all that, it’s the game where I struggle the least.

It’s definitely true that those who prefer the more flexible more diverse combat options of the souls games can find Sekiro’s system to be limiting. Sekiro wants you to play a certain way or get fucked, but that restriction imo gave the game so much refinement in the few core mechanics of the deflect and the rhythm of the combat. Much of its complexity is therefore not in the core mechanics itself, but the vast, expertly crafted enemy movesets. There are very cool, varied schools of combat that not just you get to learn but also enemies get to use on you.

After some time I’d say it becomes a ā€œflow stateā€ game where once it clicks, you can kind of play the game with your eyes closed haha. The bosses are extremely well made, IMO some of the best bosses in recent memory come from that game alone. I regularly go back and play the boss rush, it’s still satisfying. And I can say there are next to no bullshit bosses in the game (except maybe one towards the end but it’s optional), something I see and hear Elden Ring seem to increasingly have towards the late game.

But yeah, after playing Elden Ring, I can see how limited in scope Sekiro was compared to just how all out they’ve gone with this game. It’s insane, which is why I really really want a Sekiro 2 :sob: There’s so much more they can do with the combat system established in the first game (both refinement and evolution), and lore wise it’s great, narratively a lot of stuff is left open in the end with some mystery characters we never get to fight or even see. Sekiro 2 would be honestly more anticipated for me than Elden Ring was. And because Sekiro was published by Activision, I really hope there is some possibility even small, that after the acquisition goes through, MS uses that publishing history and approaches Fromsoft about making a sequel to that game.

I love that you can summon Patches for the Radahn fight and that fucker nopes out as soon as he spawns. That’s so Patches!

So I had went exploring in the southernmost part of the map since I needed to level and I had ignored that part of the continent until now. I sat my controller down to text something to someone and I thought I might’ve heard something? It sounded like whispering but it was barely noticeable enough that I thought it might just be the sound of the in-game wind. I stop texting for a second to get a closer listen and I realize it’s singing. I move the character around and I eventually find that it came from…

This.

Elden Ring - Song of the Bats (Latin and English Translation) - YouTube

It’s haunting beautiful, and I had seen that someone had translated it and it seems like a sad story. Im overleveled for this area so I had fought through Castle Morne easily. I arrived at the boss, Leonine Misbegotten, and about halfway through beating him i actually didn’t want to kill him. Im probably missing why the people were transformed into demi-humans in the first place but according to the song these people don’t know why they were punished. I feel like they didn’t deserve being transformed into these creatures.

This might be the first time im digging into FromSoft lore lol.

the most hyped game for me rn so i hope this can be true as well lol, just that we have seen no gameplay and BGS has a lot to prove with this game, so there’s just as much skepticism as hype. It’s not like Fromsoft where they’re coming from a GOTY and a streak of back to back bangers. We could rely on Elden Ring delivering (forget surpassing) but yeah, Starfield gotta be that game that puts BGS back on the map as one of the GOATs and I really hope it is indeed that good at launch. :crossed_fingers:

Starfield I hope will be special. But we all know its not winning GOTY when its a PC xbox exclusive. The PS media won’t allow it.
