The end game bosses are a HUGE spike in difficulty to be honest. Nearly ridiculously so.
Nice dude, now we find out if you are truly the Elden Lord with the last four bosses. Good luck!!
I would say the very last boss, and Rot girl are nearly ridiculous. The other ones are manageable, might take a few times, but I think fair
I beat Gideon on my first try and Godfrey/Hoarah Loux on my second. Heading into the Erdtree to get demolished.
Malenia made me want to do unspeakable things.
Yeah she definitely falls into the ābullshitā category. I wonder how many times the testers at From Software had to perish before they overcame her
I genuinely wouldnāt be surprised if there were testers that never actually beat her.
Yeah, the Elden beast isnt fun. I beat the Radagon on my second try.
Iām at fire giant. I hate to say it but Iām kind of wanting to call help and have someone run through the rest of this with me. Iām getting a bit burned out in a way that Iāve not felt in prior souls games, and itās not like Iām playing a ton. Just want to see the end and move on.
The good news is that youāre pretty much in the final stretch.
I had this exact same feeling - but I was playing a ton. I was having the time of my life until that last stretch of brutal bosses. Then I just wanted the game over.
Maliketh and the Elden Beast were the two that gave me the most trouble, but I still havenāt beaten Malenia after many tries. Thank goodness she was optional.
FYI, I ended up using the aggro trick with the Mimic Tear on both Maliketh and the Elden Beast. Both of those fights were much more manageable after that.
Iāve heard the stretch of bosses is not fun. Not looking forward to it which is sad.
Aggro trick? Also: are there a fair number of real people throwing down summon signs in those areas? I havenāt seen one near the fire giant yet.
I beat Malenia on my second try. Sheās really weak to stagger.
I never tried to summon a real person, so I have no idea on that.
The aggro trick: You can equip the talisman that always gives you aggro (Shabiriās Woe) before summoning your Mimic Tear, then immediately unequip it. The Mimic will still have it on since you were wearing it during the summon. Enemies will then focus their attacks (almost) exclusively on the Mimic.
Iām level 145 atm, I have moonveil and rivers of blood and those blood claws which are all things I keep hearing about. My mimic is +5. I donāt have the stats to use the rivers of blood. People keep saying ārespect to do xyzā but Iām not sure exactly what to do to make those things happen, ho to min/max, etc.
Blood weapons scale heavily from Arcane. Like 50 soft cap with a hard cap of 80. Lots of the OP builds go for 80 arcane. Iām not sure if Mimic is as strong as it used to be, but itās reasonably easy to get the materials to get it to +10 if you do some exploring in the underground regions of Elden Ring.
You can probably find YouTube videos or Reddit posts on almost any build/strategy. I had never played a souls-like before Elden Ring so I spent quite a bit of time on YouTube just trying to figure out some basics.
One thing to be aware of since you are getting to a pretty high level - apparently the game has āsoft capsā on the stats. So, even though you can take every stat up to 99 there is not much point in going beyond the soft caps (since the benefits of each increase dramatically falls after the soft cap).
I donāt remember all of the caps but I think the relevant ones for me were INT of 80 (for sorcery effectiveness) and Vigor of 60 (for hp). I think for non-sorceries the INT soft cap is also 60, so I suspect most soft caps are in that range.
Edit: And you definitely want your favorite spirits at +10 for the late game. I think I had four of them at +10 by the time I finished.
Man Cliffy is playing with fire lol. I do agree with his point though. The core gamer crowd loves to trash games which stick to their general formula over multiple iterations, but they get strangely offended when someone uses the same critique against a From game.
Got really close with the carian slicer spell. I think I can get him (fire giant).
Edit: Got him. That carian slicer is ridiculous.
