Do any of the boss weapons have special skills like the ones Dark Souls 3 or do they have Ashes of War?
They might be similar thing when I think about it.

Getting sent to the volcano manor by those guys in the academy is the worst fucking thing. Literally is hell cant even leave the place till you find a grace
Yeahā¦. Thereās another one like that during the story and I really donāt want to do it. Seems that the fight Iām avoiding is one the community is pretty upset about.
There is a cave entrance in the mountain. Follow that cave until you come across a section with marble pillars. There is a fallen grace at that location. Be warned though, donāt follow the cave past that point itās bad news lol.
I always find myself looking up at that big tree every now and then. Itās like a big glowing center piece in the middle of a dining table. Itās cool how you can see it nearly everywhere in the open world.
Im trying to get the Banished Knight Oleg summon but the boss i have to beat to get it usually takes me out in two hits. Its massive and has all this crap sticking out of its body to hit you with, but the room you fight it in is small. So you basically have to try not to get hit while it basically spazzes the fuck out in a tiny space.
Finished the second boss (dumb gimmick) and am now making my way into Redmane Castle. I think this is where Iām supposed to be anyway.
61+ hours, level 70+, didnāt even reach the capital yet. I shouldnāt have thoroughly explored the first regions, now Iām feeling tired playing it. And Iām just kicking ass on bossesā¦
Iām feeling burnt out tbh, but I know if I put them game down then Iāll never come back just like when I almost beat Bloodborne.
This is a little advice so people donāt fuck Rannis quest line like I did. When you enter Nakron City and go down the coffin after the twin gargoyles fight. You will see another coffin directly ahead that has an item called miniature Ranni. When you pick the item up it will give you the option to speak to her at the bonfires. SPEAK TO HER, itās what moves the quest line forward. If you donāt and continue all the way until the last boss, and beat the last boss. You wonāt be able to proceed into the last room past a magic barrier. Iām really pissed off and fuming that Miyazaki has fucked me in the ass like this. I would have gladly have gotten a bad ending situation or whatever, but the fact that I canāt finish the quest is just really bringing me down.
Finally beat Godskin Duo. Those two can go f*#{+#^{]* themselves! Possibly one of my least favorite boss battles in a long time. Felt difficult for the sake of difficulty in a cheap way.
At them now. The lategame is pissing me off and after 30 hours Iām burning out but Iām also scared to drop the game. Exploration feels less emphasized in the late game and most bastards oneshot you. Granted, Iām slightly underlevelled.
Regardless, I truly loved everything up to Leyndell. If you ended there, GOTY. Iād have put more time into it than most games anyways. More than my moneyās worth. But yeah, I just want to play a shooter and clear my mind now.
The video essays for this game are gonna be wild. Iām expecting 5+ hour breakdowns of every part of this game.
I am brand new to Souls games, so I figured this was a good strategy. It turned out to be a mixed bag. I definitely got some good tips. But the videos also had me running all over the map to look for items/spells - and I was not nearly the appropriate level to do the things they wanted (even though the videos were for ābeginnersā or āfirst few hoursā or whatever).
I actually ended up breaking one of the quests by doing this. The NPC who is supposed to help with Roderick does not show up for me in the castle now. I have found her several other places, but not in the castleā¦
Itās definitely one of my favorite games of recent years, but Iām definitely going to have more criticisms for this game than I feel some will like (I have a buddy who seems to be blindly in love with it that wasnāt a fan of my opinion lol).
Assuming nothing drops to much further, Iām leaning toward and 8.5-9/10 for quite a few nitpicks and a couple of glaring issues toward the end.
This game might be like Cyberpunk 2077 for me where I will play it insanely and get the 100%, but wonāt revisit until some patches get through.
What level are you?
I looked up a list of recommended area/level, it looks like for Leyndell the recommend you be level 80+ with a +20-25 level weapon.

Im level 103 and I still get killed in regular places, lol. I will probably never see the end of the game.
Meanwhile I am still exploring Liurnia after 62hrsā¦I am taking my sweet time with the game and searching every nook and cranny (revisiting areas, trying to successfully continue side-quests e.t.c.) but isnāt 30hrs a bit too fast to be at the lategame areas?
I am seeing some guys here saying that they feel burned out while I donāt want this game to end. The feeling that you donāt know what to expect next is what keeps things fresh and interesting for me (among other things).
Also another thing I wanted to point out about this game and From in general is how good they are at translating their concept art into in-game graphics, sure in terms of their tech/engine they have a lot to improve but visually while the game is not the most advanced tech-wise it looks incredible IMOā¦some amazing vistas that look like paintings plus the game is pretty consistent in terms of graphics quality considering how big and diverse the world is. ER is literally a high/dark fantasy wet dream in terms of visuals and imagery. Maybe itās just me but visually it reminds me of the 80ās era of high/dark fantasy moviesā¦I am getting strong Excalibur (1981), Legend (1985), Conan the Barbarian (1982) and even BeksiÅski (you know which area lol) vibes from the game.
