Never expected this game to make the top 10 on Xbox in the US, that’s great to see, it’s probably selling very well on Xbox here based on this, good to see.
But From needs to get better in the technical side, but why should they care with scores like the ones this game got? I think the reason why it hasn’t bothered me much it’s because my TV has VRR.
Eventually the game might perform better once they work on the engine a bit more. Theres only so many delays you can get.
I would have been shocked if this game wasn’t in top 10 most played for the week. But shocking to see so many mediocre games on that list. It is what it is I guess.
Remember when Namco said they expect to sell 4 Million copies by March 31st??
Well According to this the game has or probably sold round 5 Million+ on PC Alone…that’s PC Alone. Not even including Consoles…in less than a week. I think its safe to say the game will surpass Namco’s Predicted sales. Imo 4 million was a reasonable expectation considering this isn’t mainstream game everyone can enjoy. I think the highest selling souls game is DS3 but even that game did around 3 million first month.
I am basically obsessed with Elden Ring, and this is coming from someone that was never a Souls game guy. This world is just so amazing to explore, and the satisfaction when I managed to beat some of these initial bosses has been great. This is setting a very high bar for me for GOTY at this point considering that I am feeling like it is one of the best games ever for me so far in terms of that magical feeling of mystery and accomplishment.
A quest log? Ive been playing for dozens of hours and i think i remember doing like 2 or 3 quests.
I think these people been llaying too many ubisoft open world games. We dont need quest trackers. Quests in this game are fine the way they are because you just end up discovering them and doing them at your own pace.
Weve had tight experiences. Too many. This game was needed. It sucks youre not having a good time but my advice would be to play it like a tight game…just venture through the main paths or use a guide. Theres intersctive maps you can find areas of interest.
I also dont like open world games because most of them are uninteresting. Coincidentally the ones ive loved are this and BOTW where they dont give you billions of things to do at once and markets everywhere.
I look at the huge world differently to you. It excites me how ive sunk in 40 odd hours and only beaten 2 main bosses and barely seen what the game has in store.
I’m enjoying Elden Ring but not as much as the other games in the FROM soulslike series… Because it’s open world.
Much like I absolutely hated BoTW. Give me classic Zelda any day (preferably 2D, oracle games, minish cap, link’s awakening etc). BoTW was a 3/10 for me, most boring barren open world game of all time.
Elden is a strong 7/10 for me. Good game but the reviews are too high IMO of course. Sekiro and Bloodborne were 10/10s.
So far the castle “legacy dungeon” area with the first lord boss has been the only interesting area in the game to me.
FINALLY beat Margit last night with the help of Rogier and another mage summons. Rogier is great as a tank and, depending on RNG, he has a spell that completely flatten Margit for additional damage. At least, I assume it was Rogier and not the summons since I’ve seen it happen in my attempts only when using Rogier.
But I just dumped all my flasks into refilling my FP and just obliterated him in a few minutes. It also helped that I had fought this dude so much that his moveset was such a telegraphed joke.
Also ventured into the Stormveil catacombs last night and had a blast doing co-op with that. I just have always loved the summon system in the series and how some summons just coalesce into really good unspoken teamwork.
I can understand the reviews the game got. Even if you don’t love it, you’re constantly thinking about the game, whether you’re at home, work or school lol.
bro literally me, it’s absolutely unsustainable how I’m working and still have a few tabs open on Elden Ring tips and builds, playthroughs, rage clips, memes, so on. Like I was in a meeting and they asked me to screenshare to give feedback on some stuff I was working on, I had to go in and close all of those tabs and then allow that
Outside of the ridiculous UE5 port suggestion, this is not a bad thing to want… AS AN OPTION. Y’all have to realize not everyone has the ability and capacity to play through these games, but they would very much like to enjoy the combat and the incredible design of the game, from its art and music to the atmosphere and everything else. There can still be much enjoyment that isn’t just overcoming the challenges of the game.
I had went to work the other day thinking “kinda wanna do a build with Prisoner”, and came home thinking “maybe i’ll just start with Bandit instead”. It’s been awhile since I felt this invested in a game. I got 3 Elden Ring tabs open on my phone and they’re from yesterday (forgot I had them open lol).
Yesterday I had got to Stormveil Castle and I died several times, I ended up losing the runes I got from Margit having to deal with all the business in that place. I had to peel myself away from this game and turn it off cuz I didn’t wanna go to bed angry.
