I may take the splurge and just do it. It looks fun to me. I like getting my ass kicked only to finally find the fruits of victory. Some of these bosses look tough as nails but dammit I need a change from my FPS rut and I badly wanna be challenged. Need to broaden my horizons and I think this game has me hooked so much without even controlling a character yet.

This game captures the meaning of “adventure” perfectly, Fromsoft is invaluable after this, I hope Xbox can fund a game with them someday.

So I was wondering around up near the stormy cliffs area where the lightning attacks you (in the first area still, good god) and I came across a statue sunk into the ground, with a slash through it. The slash was glowing blue, and looked totally different to anything else in the area or game.
I tried hitting it, power attacking, all sorts… nothing happened…
There was message that said “try giant attacking” or something?
Any ideas?

It was 60 seconds away from the starting area, didn’t think it would be an issue. But will do.

If anyone is new to the genre and wants to deal a ton of damage and in return take minimal damage i strongly recommend the Astrologer class.

My most ardent advice for this game is do not feel like you need to bash your head against a hard fight. They made this game world to be explored first and foremost, and then you come back to what was previously ‘impossible’ and find you can kick its ass.

If the game starts out like the network test there’s indeed a ton of things to do and go to before heading to that boss, yep. That’s something that wasn’t really possible in Dark Souls games, you could go to another area but that was often certain death, lol.
Haha, that was badass. Man I want to get good like this, just dodge all those attacks like that, make that counter with the shield like that. It’s when you see players like these that you realize you’ve got a long way to go, if you ever get there…I won’t, lol.
