Thread is moving too fast to catch up but are there any good tips to get started before hitting the palace? I’m an astrologer and just got into the open world. Found a catacomb I’m currently working through.

find and clear every dungeon you can, they are all worth it in some way

Fixed without a patch, as network issues tend to be server-side fixes?

Yeah. Get this.

ITs not too difficult to get at all.

Scales to you INT stat with S rating.

I absolutely decimated Margit with this.

I have never simultaneously loved and hated a game so much in my life.

Glad they finally fixed this

I have realised too late into my dex samurai build that I love greatswords instead :joy:

Keep getting better weapons that are greatswords, also talismans for greatsword guard counter, like smh nothing for my Katana yet :sob:

The bloodhound curved greatsword is FUEGOOO with its Ash of War, just don’t have the fucking strength stats for single wielding it without damage loss.

BTW Guard Counter + Storm wind Ash of War destroys Knights in the stormveil castle. I didn’t think they could be more annoying than Lothric Knights but they are. And this the best way to just tear through them.

So for those who have the disc version there is a way to play the game on a series X With the one X version. It’s far from ideal as you are playing the whole game offline but it does seem to work and will get you a near locked 60fps:

You can respec after a little way in (it’s expensive as the item needed for it is rare).

I tried a few times to beat Margit, gave up and did nothing but explore for 2 or 3 hours. Saw some knights and goblins-looking things fighting each other so that was cool.

I found an optional boss that made me me laugh out loud, I won’t even hint about it but i was grinning the entire time.

That was really cool! I let them kill each other and then I took care of the survivors, well it sucks to be them! :stuck_out_tongue:

I have already played 15 hours and I still haven’t visited the castle, the amount of content in this starting area is absurd…like how the fuck From is doing this? I’ve seen more enemy variety in this area than what other whole games have to offer. Gameplay is excellent as always but definitely improved with the addition of stealth, horse riding and jump…all the above with of course the open world design make this game feel so new and fresh when compared to DS3 for example (which is still a great game btw). ER really is From’s past game experience distilled into an open world, it’s really amazing thus far.

Also run into a fucking treasure chest that teleported me into an whole other area of the map with a red sky that @Hearthian mentioned yesterday…like I don’t even…

Also some of those enemy designs man…the game is like a crazy mix of beautiful and grotesque. Talk about some occult shit right there. :open_mouth: :gimme:

Wow, this explains why all the messages I’ve been leaving have been getting rated much more frequently this morning. Every minute or two my health gets replenished when someone rates one. Turns out leaving messages everywhere is the true easy mode.

This is exactly what I did!

I mean this as an absolute compliment to them - I think From is doing this by pouring their efforts into game design and content rather than agonising over photorealistic visuals. There’s something almost indie-like about the bizarre, twisted creativity they’re pushing in this open world, which isn’t something you see very often in such a big-budget ā€˜AAA’ game from a major dev and publisher. I love it.

Shockingly adoring this. I’m not a Soulslike fan and I still am not huge on the combat here but by god the world is great. I haven’t had this desire to take shit slow and explore since BOTW, Fallout 4 and Skyrim before it (Forza Horizon too, but you take those fast!) That is great company to keep.

I hope we get more of these immersive open worlds and less Ubisoft theme parks going forward.
