I understand you so well on the frustration part.
I’d suggest co-opping it
Or when really stuck summon AI partner at bosses.

You can always over-level in a Souls game. I killed a boss in 4 hits earlier. It’s not Sekiro levels of tough.
I will be streaming this game at 10am EST tomorrow! Will probably have to start a new character since I don’t want to start a stream by being 40 hours into a character. We are TheXboxEra on Twitch and I’ll probably do at least a few hours!
Hear, hear. I think the difficulty in Souls games do get slightly overblown as you can ‘game’ the difficulty. Sekiro is the true difficult From game, because you genuinely need to be good at it and constantly need to be on the front foot.
I just hope there isn’t anything like Ornstein and Smaug though, good lord that fight in Dark Souls. I had fireballs, because if I only had swords at my disposal… probably wouldn’t have persisted.
everybody keeps saying Sekiro is the toughest Fromsoft game and here I am just damageless breezing through modded Genichiro, Guardian Ape, Corrupted Monk, Isshin, etc while struggling in Dark Souls 3 lol
I finished Dark Souls 1 (360 version!) and I know there are ways to overlevel and cheese your way through, but even those ways do involve a big time, repetition, and frustration commitment. I had the capacity for that back in 2013 when I had all the time and focus in the world, I just don’t have that anymore, haven’t had it since DS2 either (that game probably made me realize that lol).
In any case I don’t want to derail this thread to be about my experience. Happy for y’all FromSoft fans and for FromSoft who are just crazily killing with quality, consistency, and efficiency in their games, they really stand out amazingly among the rest of the AAA industry, just hope they’d support more accessibility.
If you had to compare the map to another game, which would you say the scale is similar to? Not necessarily the depth of content etc, just the overall world size.
“the later areas are far more stunning than the first ones”
Lol Elden Ring is 70 Euros in the Netherlands, and we don’t get the MS reward points either. I’m going to wait on a sale.
It’s the biggest map I can remember, not only as a land mass but the amount of underground tunnels/cities etc is staggering.
Argentina codes sell for less than $30
Use a VPN on phone or pc and buy the game for like 30 or so. Via certain sites like Cdkeys, Eneba and so on. 70 is crazy and I’ve never paid that for any game.
Personally I don’t agree with those for Mario though.
I agree. It should be 100
Oh hey, I can now talk about this game too
Been lucky enough to have been playing it for the last week, thanks to my fortunate relation to DonCabesa. And I admit Souls games are usually not my thing. I loved Dark Souls 1 back in the day, hated 2 was lukewarm on 3 and really liked Sekiro. Haven’t really liked any of the non-From souls like titles. And I was a little luke warm on Elden Ring at first, but it grew on me fast
And even if I don’t end up seeing it through all the way myself, I inimated to Jess that I’ve already seen enough to be able to appreciate and recognize what a fucking masterpiece this game is. And I know any Souls fans who plays this will be head over heals for it. It deserves all the amazing reviews it’s gotten so far
And side note, to all the Demon Slayer fans. Just to prove I don’t hate the show, when you’re watching Jess’ Elden RIng review, when you see a co-op guy named Tanjiro? That was me
