Dying Light 2: Stay Human OT - Releases February 4th, 2022

Eating and drinking is indeed very important to avoid motion sickness in games! Being tired can also lead to being more prone to get it. So being well rested, well fed and hydrated is step 1  I then use ginger to combat the effects, preferably in some kind of drink like a tea. If it’s really bad I chew on a (small) piece of fresh ginger, surprisingly effective. It can also be used preemptively when you know beforehand. Chewing gum also helps, it has something to do with the ears I believe. There are also meds of course.

The missing events is I’ve encountered several times now that a GRE night thing doesn’t spawn anything in the zone. The visual bugs is a headspinning npc in one of the safe houses, lol. I’ve also had the unresponsive howlers, like all of them.

Oh yes! The VRR is great

Thankfully, I’ve never had anything that bad. Sometimes, it’s not gaming related. I may not have enough sleep the night before and that leads to my head bothering me here and there. Not eating doesn’t help. But it is rare.

You seem to have more serious issues with the motion sickness. Did you try playing with the motion blur and distance blur off? They added both today and it does seem like it improves the game and feeling when running/moving the camera quickly.

You mean the GRE Biohazard Facilities where you get the Inhibitors? If so, it depends on when you go through it. If you clear a floor or two, die and then go back in, it will already be empty and cleared. But the floor you didn’t do should still be full of resources and whatnot.

Haven’t had the headspinner NPC but that does sound funny. I had two Howlers that just stood there after I used the bow and arrow to eliminate the biters around them but when I went to attack them, my weapon clipped right through them.

Yes, it’s really bad in some games. Usually there’s a direct correlation between the quality of the game/devs though, like it’s most common in smaller indie stuff but there is the odd big game where it is a problem. Often solved by changing settings like motion blur, FOV, headbobbing and camera shake but when a game lacks those settings, like DL2 did/does it sucks. Wolfenstein TNO was another one which sucked. On the other hand I can play 100’s of hours of Halo, Battlefield etc. without any issues at all.

I have now tried DL2 and it’s much better! The VRR + motion blur did the trick for the most part. Would like a FOV-slider though. Still a problem with the shaky cam and irratic movement in cutscenes too, but that is a design thing I suppose. Not a fan of that POV at all tbh, nausea or no nausea.

Yeah, I mean the GRE anomaly ā€œonly available at nightā€ Revenant stuff. There’s nothing.

Yeah, that’s how my Howlers behaved too, went in for the kill and… not ā€œthereā€ so to speak. No reaction.

I’m glad that the VRR/Motion Blur options have helped you with the motion sickness. While im not 100% sure, I think they will be adding a FOV slider at some point.

The Howlers only recently happened to me right after the patch. I didn’t have this issue before the patch. Will test it again later tonight.

Oh you mean the Revenant mini-bosses that call biters to attack while they jump from one trailer to the other. Did you beat the Revenant at night? Because if you don’t get the loot before 08:00, im pretty sure it disappears.

Is night time as scary and tense like the first one?

Yeah those, didn’t show up at all. Just as empty as in daytime. Is there a trigger I’m missing?

I had the Howler issue pre- and post patch unfortunetely.

Edit: I also just got the audio bug again too. Yeah… they need to fix more stuff lol.

Yes. It lessens as you upgrade your immunity timer but im 60+ hours in and I still get tense as some enemies can kill you in a few hits.

All I know is that they need to be started after the 20:00 hour mark and completed before the 08:00 hour mark.

Oh wow. I only had the Howler issue today after the patch.

How many times is that? Thus far for me, it’s 3. Once last Friday, Saturday and Monday.

Aight, bugged then I suppose. Will try some other ones later.

3 times for me too now.

Memory might be playing tricks on me but not for me it isn’t. It’s a little more dangerous but I get by just fine and I am not even leveled up that much.

Playing on normal by the way.

Normal is EASY. I played for about 4 hours on normal because im not good in first person games but I was only hit three or four times. Barely touched. Restarted playing on hard and it’s definitely harder. It feels like Hard is the way the game is meant to be played. Less resources, limited selling to vendors and enemies are stronger/tougher with far better AI.

85+ hours into. Absolutely loving this game!! Excluding one single main quest, every main quest has been excellent. I still have about a third of the story to go but so much has been excellent up to where im at. And to think, this is just the base game.

Yeah, this is great fun. I actually like the story, which is supposed to be the weakest part. I take it as a B-movie and just roll with it, works really well.

Ran into my first bugged side quest yesterday though, the NPC i’m supposed to talk to is not there which sucks. I’m not a fan of not being able to save my game so I can go back if things get screwed up. (True Friends, the kid looking for a dog is not present)

Question about this.

When it goes from 110 back to like 80, do you notice this? As in framerate dips? Or not at all?

I’m really enjoying the story and characters. I still have around 10 story missions to do not including the current story mission im doing. More than the story and characters are the main story quests themselves. The one im doing now has so much to it and has taken me over 2 hours of real time thus far (died twice) and im not finished with it yet. lol. Reminds me of The Division 2 where the main quests are excellent due to the setting, structure and what you have to do to complete it all. Really enjoying it overall with no major complaints or issues thus far.

I did that side quest a few days ago and no issues. Sorry you’re having bugs and glitches. I have had a few visual/loading in enemies to where they’re fully solid/Howler’s being on screen but doing nothing issues but none of it has been game breaking for me. Most are just like, whatever as I keep playing. lol

really hated doing the mission blowing up the windmill since i kept falling and had to look up a video and completely missed the stairs for the one part and only i completed it with 7 seconds left on the clock.

I really wish I could make manual saves… Could have saved me from that missing quest NPC.

just so you guys know there is a bug on xbox that is causing controllers to act like they dont work. It got so bad I had to stop playng.

Yeah… the advanced climbing is not great in first person. People say it’s realistic but… how realistic is it to have no peripheral vision? Like that is not how we see things.

That’s covered in the vrr range of my tv, so no. It will depend ontm the vrr range of your tv. If it’s 30-120fps or 60-120fps you won’t really notice it.
