Like some have said in here I think mid gen console refresh is making these launch window games have less of a wow factor. I will still most likely get this game since I like racing games, but we’ll probably have to wait for Cyberpunk series x patch to give us our first wow this is next gen moment like Ryse did with his graphics.

Wow the DF video really puts into perspective the sheer performance we are seeing here.
And it’s not even final yet.
I guess we now know why Ms is letting the press test even unfinished games

Why does the game look better from DF? I think it’s clear letting clowns like IGN make videos is a mistake!

If we see it under this angle I totally agree with you. It teases the potential there is under the hood.

Digital foundrys footage looks leagues better than everyone else’s.
Do they have better capture equipment or something?
Jeff’s footage look insanely rough, but 120fps on DF doesn’t look awful, whilst still a noticeable downgrade visually from the other modes.

Capture cards unable to properly handle 120fps perhaps? The other videos do look overly compressed compared to DF’s one
I agree the DF footage looks way way better. DF does better justice to the game.
Sorry but now I take back what I said too except that Forza Horizon still looks better imho 
lol.
Anyway, for a cross gen racing game it looks good! And it is not even finished yet, there’s still dev time remaining.

To me it’s a mixed bag. The stuff DF finds impressive indeed is nice and some parts like those with the Porsche look really good, but some other parts/tracks just doesn’t look nearly as good. Too colorful I think while the track with the Porsche looked more realistic.
If Dirt 5 released a preview and it said PS5 gameplay people would still be talking about how there is no Series X gameplay out there.
I swear people be caring more about their own personal agendas than actually looking forward to these games. Also who the hell uses DIRT and the majority of racing games as console war ammo.

After thinking a bit more about Dirt 5 and seeing the DF video, I’m laughing today when I see on the net desperate fanboys warriors going around bashing a game that is coming to its own platform because its shown first on Xbox, while it is coming to PS5 too.
What will they say then when they’ll see it running on PS5 on “different” metrics? 
Will they try insulting the devs?
That power delta is about to be revealed…

Yeah sadly this is absolutely true. Its hilarious how Digital Foundry have just laid down a hammer on all the nonsense about this game. Its a small dev team that are based near me. They work really hard. The game is never going to be a huge AAA thing - but this is a very nice looking game compared to past entries in the series.

Apparently both the modes use 4k dynamic.
Quality priorities 4k and better shadow. But still dynamic and some random drops in frame.
Framerate mode emphasize on 60 fps - use aggressive DRS and that too in starting grid and ice stage with multi cars.
120 fps mode is dynamic 1440p with lower bounds of 1080p.
It’s an impressive tech showcase afterall.
Apparently people only like realistic human simulators, which is just a shame.

I dont wanna sound like Im hating but the Sony games as quality as they are (Ive played nearly all of them this gen) it has created this sentiment that if a game doesnt have photo realistic graphics and everything else that goes with it then the game is not good.

Series X unboxing 
Jesus, I went to sleep and came back to a bunch of nonsense takes on the game. Most of them by people who never had any interest in the game anyway.
The Push Start preview and Digital Foundry analysis say it all. Spreading gifs from the 120Hz mode as if it is what the game looks like… bashing on Dynamic 4K when the resolution only ever drops on the grid… why?
Also, when will people realize that graphics are not only about resolution?

Agree. Look I am not trying to console war as I have played many Sony exclusives and had fun with them, but the whole social media photo snap approach to prop up Sony cinematic games as if they are so much better than anything else out there is just disgusting to me. I loved Spider-Man, but in no way on my PS4 Pro on my very good 4K TV did it ever look as perfect as the narrative that is propped up with such use of screenshots and throwing shade at Xbox and other games.

Laugh everytime we get some of those high fidelity screenshots from Sony games and they never look like that in actual gameplay.
Like those Miles Morales screenshots look great but those are setup to get the best image possible.
