I did a little bit of Googling and YouTubing to try to answer the question, but didn’t think of checking out speedruns.
Speaking of YouTube, I also wanted to recommend a video I just watched. If anyone’s got any questions about the story or backstory, this video does a great job in explaining everything that went on before the game began, everything that went on during it, and speculates a bit about what’s going on after it.
