DC and Marvel multimedia thread (movies, games, TV shows etc)

That’s come around so fast lol. Looks like I will be off to the cinema again shortly.

Watched Doctor Strange : MOM . It was ok . No spoilers but I think you guys should keep your expectations low .

Yes , you should rewatch Wandavision for this movie .

Just saw Doctor Strange 2.

I really wanted to love this movie, and I do partly. The visual effects are awesome and there are plenty of great action scenes were we can enjoy these. Cumberbatch as Strange is always great and most of the acting was fine really, although I have no idea what this America Chavez is doing in this movie. I absolutely do not get the point of her.

Story wise, eh. Convoluted, unlogical things happening, characters seem different than how they were in the first movie, it was a bit all over the place. Also my head is starting to spin with all these different universes anyway, it’s getting a bit tiresome to be honest. Or…maybe I’m just experience MCU fatigue.

Yup. Idk why MCU fans think that people dont like this movie because of Raimi . Raimi is the only good part . The actual stinker is the script . Like you said , characters seem different than how they were before .

Yeah for sure!

I saw some comments on a movie review website and also a video review just now and they explained it perfectly. The Raimi parts shine, but it’s not enough. It’s clear that Disney/Marvel didn’t give Raimi full control over it all. But they should have.

Apparently there have been lots of reshoots too, I read, wonder how much of Raimi was cut perhaps.

Speaking of Marvel movies, well sort of… I watched Morbius last night.

It is very much typical fodder Sony action movie from the SpiderMan universe. It pales in comparison to the Venom movies. Yes, even the second one with Carnage which was quite behind the first. Morbius had no comedy at all to draw in the viewer. I ignored the actual details in Morbius because they never gave a reason to follow that closely and wrote it off as fodder that Sony never manages to get right. The secondary main character was portrayed by Matt Smith, yes, the worst Doctor Who actor ever. He was rather irritating here too.

The only redeeming aspect that some might find is the credits scenes. During the 2 credits scenes they set up for tie-in to the SpiderMan series with the villain that reappears caused by the No Way Home events.

Now I understand posts like the following from when it was in the theatre:

I felt completely disappointed by the "MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS STUFF OMG LOLOLOL" really didn't live up to the hype it created. And I really despise marvel's humor.

Strangely enough of all MCU movies it seems this one didn’t have all that much of humor though.

I know, but those small “snippets” of marvel humor in the movie are enough to remind me how much I hate it.

Also, what a lame post credit scene.

Yeah I was like…who the fuck is this now? All these new characters. Also those “new” Avengers in that one scene, I don’t know. Maybe I’m getting tired of McU now. These new heroes do nothing for me.

Although the box office results do not show it, but the general sentiment about the MCU is going down little by little imo.

I was mentally checked out even before Endgame. Even though the movie was good, I was glad that the story arc was over. After that, they are basically fanfare and not objectively good movies anymore imo. Maybe you can argue that they were never good movies before either.

Can’t argue with that. What I’m most worried about is will character be as lame as Hawkeye.

what are you saying bro ? Morbius is the best CMB movie . It made trillion dollars at the box office :phil_lmao:

Here I am thinking Morbius wasn’t nearly as bad as everyone said, lol.

I had a good time, it had its issues but hey…i enjoyed it. :relaxed:

New Flash movie trailer is out and it looks really good

Nice message to the fans here from the new Supergirl actress Sasha Calle

My brother is finally watching Guardians of the Galaxy and is loving it.

To be able to understand stuff properly for Guardians 2 and 3, Avengers Infinity War and Endgame are must watch movies, right?

It’s interesting how marvel is so far ahead of DC. Like, for example----DC movies that are live action seem to fail but animated films they surely do better. I think DC should stick with animation and marvel live action. Additionally, DC did everything backwards which is how they failed----Marvel did everything front which is how they did so well.

Green Lantern is a prime example of ---- hoping fans enjoy but using a post credit scene that shows sinestro becoming evil when hes beloved as a hero in the GL core before they even do any (build) it causes problems.

It seems to have been this way for a while now, DC were typically better at animation and live action TV and Marvel were typically better at live action film.

I think Marvel have crawled it back for live action TV now (except for a few mistakes). I’m really looking forward to the new Daredevil series next year.

Now that James Gunn is running DC I’m hoping they fix their live action films, there really is no reason they should be as bad as they are.

It’s a shame Nolan didn’t want to extend his Dark Knight trilogy, that was awesome.
