Cyberpunk 2077 |OT| It feels like it's taken 2077 years for this game to release (and might take another 2077 years for it to be fixed)

Congrats everyone! The biggest game of this generation is a timed console exclusive for Xbox

To be honest, I think Microsoft should offer a path for people to get a refund beyond the 2-hour mark. The game is clearly unfinished and needs more time in the oven.

I really hope so. Haven’t played a game since I completed Mafia in late September. Almost three months without gaming may be a record for me. Hahaha.

Damn

Finished the game

The way you don’t want an exclusive

I’m crazy about how this game looks when it’s dark and rainy. Feels like I’m in a Blade Runner movie.

Because Sony doesn’t have a refund system in place like MS or Steam. So whatever refunds consumers demands Sony will be responsible for that. So pretty much saving their own rear side.

I might just buy the game because it’s a timed Xbox exclusive

Knowing CDPR, I know they will fix the game eventually. Seems like their work on creating next-gen engine didn’t go hand in hand with the ambitions they had for the game. Except for the poor optimizations and technical issues base consoles and in general they have pretty succeeded in creating a fantastic world with amazing narrative.

But I am glad I made the right choice of waiting for this game. Pretty much all the ambitious open world games are prone to have such problems as game optimizations and especially its kind of very challenging in an open world environments and when you have to deliver it cross-gen on multiple specs as well as a launch window.

One more thing I like to add is that I absolutely hate this modern day tirade and tribalism against game companies, where we make sure that they absolutely go out of business, not understanding the real world ramifications of such behavior.

Also this makes a case about game development for the future. Due to such behavior we are going to see less and less companies taking risks to make something super ambitious unless its coming from a big publisher support, even then the ambitions will be toned down.

And this is a precise case for a thing like GAME PASS where the traditional model is failing for most of the games and developers can leverage this low barrier entry point to customers will become more and more prevalent in the coming days.

I think, considering the drama and uproar surrounding the Xbox One and PS4 version of the game, posting outside (but informed) opinions is okay - but also yeah, just the first tweet of a thread and let folks peruse at their leisure please.

The game is assuredly a victim of it’s own marketing hype, hence the fervour and conversation around it’s issues.

I’m sure it’ll get patched and be a very different game in 6 months or so - I’ll wait until then before playing.

I beat this last night and enjoyed my time with it after 40 hours. Some really solid side quests and motorbikes are awesome but the game feels empty and lifeless. Luckily i never encountered any game breaking bugs or any noteworthy glitches. In my experience fallout 4 was far more broken at launch than this game. I played on Series S.

100% the map and complete game.

Honest TL;DR review: 7/10

Reminds me of FFXV(Not story obv) and how that launched. Was kinda fun.
