Cyberpunk 2077 |OT| It feels like it's taken 2077 years for this game to release (and might take another 2077 years for it to be fixed)

I am enjoying my time with the game, but I just don’t see how anyone can give it a perfect score. The game’s city is impressive, and the story, main characters, and side-missions are all entertaining enough, but it really doesn’t hold up under closer scrutiny outside of those.

The NPC’s are dumb, none of the promised individual lifestyles/schedules on display here, with very boring, oft-repeated dialog. AI-driven cars can’t maneuver around 1 car blocking traffic? The police aren’t good for anything and are extremely easy to escape from.

No actual side-activities outside of prostitutes and vending machines so far in my playthrough, so not hopeful that’ll improve. It’s essentially Deus Ex, just with a true open-world, driving, and melee.

So playing on my Series X at quality mode has been the best experience so far, locked 30fps at a 1500P-1700P resolution going by DF’s video today that seems to be the resolution and it scales up well on my 4K TV, it’s basically what I would’ve expected if I didn’t have a Series X and still was on Xbox one x but after I saw what the PC version looks like I don’t know if I should just stop playing on my Series X now And just wait for the next gen patch which I’m sure won’t be out for at least 6-7 months because it feels like the current Cyberpunk experience just isn’t what it should be, I know it was delayed a bunch of times but this one needed one last big delay to mid 2021.

So Series X is the best “If you have to play it right now on console” experience at Quality Mode.

But the game should have just been delayed another year and made next-gen only.

Is anyone here playing on One X? My buddy is close to buying the game, he doesn’t have XSX yet. He just wants to know if he should get it. How is the framerate and bugs for it?

few posts up someone on one x says it’s fine

In terms of open world elements the game is vastly inferior to games like Wasteland 3 and Fallout New Vegas while also being vastly inferior to games like GTAV and RDR2 in terms of open world elements. CDPR were way in over their heads and I’m convinced management had no idea what they were doing.

I’m playing on 1X. See further back up the page for my honest impressions of this game that I was very much looking forward to, from a dev studio that I’m a big fan of.

To answer quick, I’d honestly advise your friend to wait a bit & let them get a couple of patches out. For me its just not a great experience at the moment.

Patch 1.04 is out supposedly but it’s not showing up for me.

The patch is here. 16Gb.

damn I’d have thought Series S would be an absolute nightmare but after watching the DF comparison, it’s crazy how well it runs on there. If it is already doing 30fps in BC with DRS (going considerably higher than 1080), I’d say the next gen patch could easily give 108060 raster and 108030 with RT. Definitely gonna be great to see how it pans out.

On series S? No chance unless it’s a very very limited RT implementation. You’ve got to subtract a lot of performance due to AMD RT.

Performance or quality.?..are they both improved?

Whats peoples HDR settings playing on a C9 here

I’ve only ever played in performance.

AMD and Nvidia RT are both DXR fundamentally, Nvidia of course is a lot more ahead by virtue of being earlier and having all the additional development of ML and AI stuff. But I think a limited version could be implemented as the devkits will have also matured to a good degree by the time the patch comes out. But it’s very possible it won’t be there too. Maybe with DRS it’s possible like Watch Dogs Legion. 720-1080p dynamic would be fine for RT mode.

So it sounds like they may have upped the resolution for performance mode? It wouldn’t surprise me because 1080p sounds rather low for the XSX. I mean we have ACV running in 60fps, huge open world too and that’s a dynamic 4K.

if not the res then at least the lighting/shadows

Max luminance 1000. Paper white 250. Tone mapping 1.00. All visual options (chromatic aberration, motion blur, etc…) turned off.

Best I could come up with. It looks really nice at times.

Any of you’ll feel the same way?
