Bethesda release schedule leak (New DOOM, Fallout 3 Remaster, Dishonored 3, Ghostwire Tokyo 2, Oblivion Remaster, secret projects + more)

very surprised that they are going with a DOOM sequel (or a prequel) instead of a Quake reboot.

i can understand it though, DOOM has become a household name again, whilst Quake wasn’t prior to the return of the earlier games. it’s fairly clear now that another Quake is coming, but makes sense considering the sales power of the DOOM reboot series.

i’m curious though if that Year Zero is a boomershooter rather than a reboot

These type of leaks sucks.

Most of these stuff were before the merger, it sets up expectations of things that might of changed post merger.

Add 2.5 years to the timeline to make it more realistic.

Yeah I don’t see TES VI sooner than 2028. Didn’t Phil at the trial say it was still another five years away?

One way to take these lemons and turn it into lemonade is to actually have a video that covers this.

With E3 they are tied to announcing games that are coming up within the next year or two. There are many reasons why you would never ever want to talk about titles that are further out than that.

But this leak happened. They weren’t intending to talk about it so soon. So all you could do now is confirm it and to create hype from it. That sure some of these titles are 3 to 4 years out but they’re working on it. Show some concept art. Speak to some designers as to what sort of game they want to make. And go over the fact that it was far too early to announce but they want to keep gamers in the loop for something that was unintentionally leaked.

The more realistic alternative is that they won’t even acknowledge any of this and will announce things as planned and once they are announced people will be like okay yeah that was the leaked project.

I am delving into baseless conspiracy territory here by making any insinuations so I am not going to make any clean that this was planned or anything like that. But what I wanted to say was that the FTC knew that they didn’t have much to stand on and all they wanted to do was do as much damage as they could. This leak, which could be a coincidence of incompetence, achieves that. So I think it’s worthy of an investigation. It’s something that the FTC needs to address going forward for all other cases. Businesses will not want to deal with the FTC or handover information to an organization that has a reputation of being loose with confidential info.

It is the basis for losing confidence in an entire institution. Just imagine if confidential sources in high-profile violent crime cases were often mistakingly exposed. At that point you would have very few people become sources to address violent criminals. There will be little faith in the justice system at that point.

Ghostwire 2, but why?

I ended up liking it and finishing the game after some negative initial impressions. The setting and world are interesting, combat has variety and it’s satisfying to eliminate enemies, develop powers and improve mobility/traversal. The only thing they need to do is to improve aiming AND make default mode to be 60fps. Make it more focused instead of open world.

I agree with you on that. More focused could make it a lot better. I’m just surprised though, it didn’t do incredibly well iirc and I definitely expected Tango to make something else AAA wise, and another title like HFR or perhaps a sequel.

And Indiana Jones seems soon, but that clearly has been moved further. We haven’t seen a thing yet.

Quake reboot has to be there as well, maybe othe projects or not listed. You don’t do these remasters for nothing.

This is all old pre-acquisition stuff now, so who knows what these studios are actually working on right now. Games like Dishonoured 3, Doom year zero and Ghostwire 2 were planned before or just after their respective teams were finished with the games they were developing.

So there is a real chance they are working on something else rather than the games listed here.

There’s really cool stuff there, great sequel potential.

I think ID has 300+ employees now, so if they keep growing there is the potential they are working on multiple games.

Yeah good point. I recall reports that Eternal would be the last Doom, at least for a while, while ID works on something else.

Scrap Dishonored 3 or keep it on the backburner and make a new Prey instead!

The Indiana Jones release window is quite old too then? I do wonder what the chances are of it finally being shown next E3.

Personally I would love if it they made it third person. Exploring such locations Tew style I’d love.

Dishonored 2 was Arkane Lyon’s babe. Prey was Arkane Austin’s creation. Post Deathloop and Redfall, we could see Dishonored 3 and Prey 2 developed simultaneously. Or we could see neither happen.

Yeah true.

And Jason reported a while ago that a lot of talent left Arkane. So I guess we’ll have to wait and see if we get that brilliance again. Those games were a long time ago now.

I’m sure the sequels to games that weren’t even out by the at the time this slide was created (assuming it was 2020) are pretty soft and plans could have easily changed.

I hope we get a lot more Starfield DLC than is listed.

At least it does not look like the XGS full lineup leaked so maybe they will have some surprises? Im kind of gutted for the devs though :pensive:

Looks good. I’m guessing the main Xbox Showcase next year will be full of bangers.

The pipeline of upcoming games are a sight to behold. 2020-2022 was barebone, but we are about to eat good for years to come.

This. One thing I’ve wanted Xbox to do more of, is to give their dev teams the opportunities to improve on titles that may not have set the world alight, but could lead to a great sequel. Recore comes to mind from last gen, and I think Ghostwire Tokyo definitely has potential.
