A fellow anime fan a few days ago highly recommended that to me too. Watched the first episode and yeah, wtf? I’m intrigued though.
Is it only 7 eps? Because that’s actually quite nice, and I can take a break from One Piece for a bit.

It started this season and is still running on a weekly basis
Ooooh, ok, I see. Thanks!
Dandadan is a 12 episode season, which covers the first four arcs of the manga.
Other recommendations for 2024:
Delicious in Dungeon (24 episode first season of two, Netflix)
Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End (24 episode season, has been renewed, Crunchyroll)
The Apothecary Diaries (24 episode season, has been renewed, Crunchyroll)
Oh yeah, I knew I was missing out on watching something Today. Dandadan Episode 8 is out
Is Overlord worth it?
I saw that my cinema theater here will play the new movie soon. And I love watching anime in the theater, I support that. But it seems I’ve a lot of catching up to do first.
“Get in the Gundam!”
A new Gundam series, from the makers of Neon Genesis Evangelion is coming next year! Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuuX is being made by Studio Khara in association with Sunrise. The synopsis, from the official site:
Amate Yuzuriha is a high-school student living peacefully in a space colony floating in outer space.
When she meets a war refugee named Nyaan, Amate is drawn into the illegal mobile suit dueling sport known as Clan Battle.
Under the entry name “Machu,” she throws herself into fierce battle day after day, piloting the GQuuuuuuX. Then an unidentified Gundam mobile suit pursued by both the space force and the police appears before her, along with its pilot, a boy named Shuji.
Now their world is about to enter a new era.
New anime adaptation coming out later this year, Young Ladies Don’t Play Fighting Games.
A hot fighting game played at the girls’ school!! Aya transferred into Kuromi Girls Academy a month ago with the goal of changing herself into a proper lady. After meeting the breathtaking Shirayuri, Aya is blown away by her elegance and posterity. Imagine her surprise when she finds Shirayuri after school playing… a fighting game?! And if that wasn’t perplexing enough, she is challenged to a duel by the unladylike Shirayuri!
The great thing is that in the manga the beatemup the girls are playing is made up, but in the anime the producers are co-oping with Capcom to have the girls play Street Fighter 6, making it more “realistic”. Also Shirayuri is a real gamer and she ‘trashtalks’.
Monster was one of the first anime I watched and I loved it, I never read the manga. Then I found out about 20th Century Boys and heard that it’s a must read. I’ve tried it, but I’m on volume 1, page 60 and I find it slow, confusing, all over the place and just not sure at all if this is for me. I Googled it and then saw that more people were disappointed with the manga after all the hype.
I’m gonna continue on with at least volume 1, I don’t give up so easily, but whet are some easy to recommend manga that contain a dark, mysterious and suspenseful story? This is what I loved about Monster, and of course Death Note. Ideally it’s not going over the top and stays relatively “realistic” as in, could happen in real life.
One Piece episode 955…
Alright, so what is going on at this bit?
Last we saw Law being tortured, a few episodes back. Now all of a sudden he’s free, Hawkins seems to have been defeated?
Bruh…
Or is this something that gets clarified soon? Because wtf!
I wouldn’t know at this point because I don’t even remember what episode I stopped watching One Piece.
So basically, Dragon Ball Super is on an indefinite hiatus, because of Shueisha. I just hope this means that original anime stories can still be done, because Super is pretty much stuck in limbo.
If anyone is watching Secrets of the Silent Witch, skip episode 10, it’s just a recap episode of the last 9.
Dandadan definitely did it better, as it goes back in time to showcase our newest character and how he ended up where he did last episode. But is also not the entire season being recapped, and it doesn’t take up the entire episode.
as someone like me who is a otaku, weeb, and a gooner i sure do love anime and man my favorite anime is gundam, dragonball, hellsing, high school dxd, delicious dungeon, and whatever the anime’s i love so on and so fourth so yeah that
I’m currently rewatching the original Gundam a long side some really good new anime, I find that Gundam UC doesn’t hold up for.
Got 2 months free Crunchyroll from Gamepass. Gonna check out Frieren
I watched two episodes of that and it’s quite interesting, it’s different, something you don’t see too often.
Personally I’ve put anime on the back burner for now and fully into reading manga. 20th Century Boys, by the creator of Monster. It’s damn good.
I watched two episodes of Frieren last night and I enjoyed it. I’m gonna stick with it. By the way, did you end up trying Overlord? I loved s1-3. Enjoy your manga
why is that gundam UC doesn’t hold up for?
