the dub is surprisingly good, but the wait for new seasons is going to be a drag. I’ve seen the entire series already, but had a lot of fun watching it in dub

For those that watched Hunter X Hunter anime…

I have been at the part of Greed Island for a while now, I can’t seem to get through it. It seems…jesus, boring to me. All the stories before this part I really enjoyed but I have a hard time getting through this. How long is this Arc? I’m at the part where Gon and Killua get trained by that blonde girl.

Upto Episode 75, after that is the one of the best arc of any shounen anime. Greed Island arc has that dodge ball fight from episode 68 onwards which is also pretty good.

I actually really liked the Greed Island Arc.

Yeah I don’t know why it can’t really grab my attention as much as all the previous stuff.

This is why I love this series.

FACTS.

I’m in a new arc in Hunter X Hunter now, right after Greed Island. For some reason Greed Island was just alright to me, a few really cool parts (of course Gon’s battle, wow) but overall I don’t mind that’s over. It seems some crazy stuff is up.

That’s exactly where I am at now. Oh man, this sounds promising!

Damn! I will watch that for damn sure!

Speaking of anime and horror, what are some recommendations? Not sure if Death Note would fall under that but that was one of the first I’ve seen, amazing stuff.

Watch Mushi-shi, not exactly horror, but it has similar exploration of supernatural things (largely inspired by the Shinto mythology), but takes on a very calm and meditative tone instead of gory. It follows a traveler who’s an exorcist of sorts going around solving supernatural problems manifesting themselves in ā€œscaryā€ ways. It’s really good and pretty short too, so you can watch it in a weekend.

Some others I’d recommend like Promised Neverland and Parasyte: The Maxim, they are more gory but still very striking and have suspenseful, scary elements.

Oh and there’s a Junji Ito collection as well, but I haven’t watched it so this is a good reminder for myself too haha. Looking forward to that Adult Swim rendition of Uzumaki!

Parasyte is awesome. Promised Neverland I haven’t seen yet. Nice! Thanks! Same goes for Mushi-shi, another one to watch.

Yeah I noticed the Junji Ito collection too but I was afraid it was going to spoil my manga. But it seems it’s totally a different thing.
