Since you have to play 50 matches of Eliminator, most of the achievements should unlock naturally. And I personally LOVED this game mode, so I had a blast doing so!
The only achievement that I couldn’t unlock in the first 50 games was the Heads Up one, which requires you to win a match without acquiring any car drops. What I did here was to go berserk and challenge everyone I came across to upgrade my car as soon as possible. Try to play with the music off and the volume up, since the GPS voice can give you a hint of where the finish line is before it shows up in the map, giving you a head start.
You have to be lucky aswell. Ideally you have to beat a player with a level 4-6 car to get its car for you – and then you have to feel what would be better for you: keep upgrading you car to have more chances at the final showdown, or keep a low profile and try your luck with your current car.
At the final showdown you also have to be lucky. On the 30 seconds preparation open your map to see where you are, and try to guess where the finish line will be. After 50 matches you should be quite aware of the pattern the game follows. After you make your guess, go to the border of the dome closer to where you think the finish line is, and start accelerating 5 seconds before the final race begins to get a head start.
The strategy may make no sense if you have never played this game mode before, but after a few matches you will understand everything.
On a side note, as I have been telling everyone since I completed the game, this achievement was probably the most fun I had in gaming in the last year.
Do you think they will make any meaningful changes to the achievement system in the future? For me personally I would like them to go back to using small icons instead of the giant pictures. It was a neat concept but most games don’t take advantage of it, a lot of them are just big pictures with the icon that they would use for the ps trophy in the middle
Since the Series X|S UI is the same as we have now, that means we still won’t be able to sort our games on the achievement list by completion percentage or alphabetically
I would also like a platinum achievement and I agree, I like it when they use cool concept art and things like that for the picture but it seems rare lately.
Is it based on the monthly leader boards or is it based on your total score? I might be down but I just had my daughter so I’m not playing a ton of stuff right now and probably won’t until next gen launches. I’ve been passively replaying Fallout 4 because of the recent news. Although it would give me some motivation to finish the last few Cuphead achievements I need lol
I’m getting close to 85 hours in Avengers and now there are only 4 achievements left. Three of them I can get in maybe one or two hours of grinding, but I still need to beat 34 hives for the last achievement. Hives are those very tedious missions with 5 floors worth of objectives that takes a lot of time because of the insanely long load times.
It is so boring that only 44 out of 25,095 tracked gamers have unlocked this achievement according to TA lol
Edit: Look at how a leveled up character may have a difference when the AI is controlling it. I was leveling up my Black Widow when my maxed out Hulk suddenly smashed every enemy in the room haha
For those who don’t know, when you play offline the AI uses your other characters. So if you use only Thor, for example, and play mostly offline, your companions won’t have most of the skills that would help you in battle.
My Thor, Hulk and Captain America are at max level (50) and have learned every skill. There is an achievement for earning a total of 250 levels. There is also a power level, which depends on your gear like in Destiny. At the moment the max power level is 150 — and yes, there is an achievement for reaching it. It is one of the achievements I have left, since my best character is Thor at a power level of 148.
I’m currently trying to get the last achievement in Hypnospace Outlaw. It’s called “Thank You” but it’s more like “F*** You”. It definitely ranks up there in the “Why???” department and makes me question if it’s worth it… it’s definitely not.
Not bad. The game starts off easy but gets complicated. None of the achievements are hard if you use a guide though ( I had to because one of them was just… I was never going to figure it out, lol). So, the first 800pts are easy and can be gotten in a few hours if you use a guide, but that last one is just ridiculous. I would explain it but it wouldn’t make sense if you haven’t played the game.
Are you playing on Xbox? Because there was a bug on console for that achievement. Devs said they were going to patch it but I’m not sure if that update is out yet.
Yeah, I think it was fixed? I might switch over to PC anyway as using a M&Kb will probably be faster. I’ll have to replay the game, but it shouldn’t take that long to power through it.
