I think Iām going to try to make a new push to complete all of the TT Lego games. I had some momentum going in 2020-21 finishing 1 or 2 of them per month but I stalled out with a handful left.
I played through the DLC (which is the first game) first because I wasnāt sure how much it would matter story-wise, and I didnāt want to go backwards in mechanics. Boy am I glad I did. The story does matter (though not enough that I think you have to play it), but the mechanics are TERRIBLE. Itās one of the most poorly aged games Iāve ever played and would recommend people just skip this one unless you really want to get that 1000GS.
The actual Alice: Madness Returns game is great though. I really enjoyed the story that slowly unfolds as you find more and more of your previously locked away memories, the weapons are unique, the combat is fun, the platforming is fun without being having infuriating sections (which is not the norm for 3D platformers that came out in the 360 era). Very easy recommendation for anyone that likes the world of Alice in Wonderland, or just wants a fun 3D platformer.
Blast from the past, nice. I agree with your thoughts on the games. Do you think youāll go for the 1000? I remember one of the DLC costumes made nightmare difficulty much more manageable.
No, I donāt think Iāll try for the 1000. I didnāt get even half of the collectibles, which would mean needing to follow a guide to get all of those, and there are so many collectibles in this game that it felt I was looking at the guide more than playing the actual game (I originally started with the guide to try for the 1000GS). I may go back at some point and try to cheese the Nightmare achievements, but Iām happy with the 665GS and have a massive backlog already, so this is likely where Iāll end for this one.
Banged this one out before the game could even release! (JP version, releases tomorrow in the West)
Says 8 hours, but I left it running while taking breaks and whatnot. Took about 5 and a half hours, maybe 6?
Compared to Intiās previous games, the achievement list (they are all story related, besides some optional quests which are extremely short, all just āgo grab this itemā) and game itself are FAR easier. Yeah, this is definitely a casual game for Love Live fans. Nothing wrong with that, but other Inti games tend to have very punishing optional hardcore modes (usually with achievements tied to themā¦ ). Iād have liked to see something like that in this game too, but there isnāt any other modes besides just the main one, so there isnāt any replay value here compared to previous Inti titles.
The pixel graphics are on point as always for Inti, they could really make an amazing Castlevania teamed up with Konamiā¦ I liked Bloodstained, but man, the 3D visuals there were rough. And just look at some of the goofy attacks you can do lol
I think this game should have been ~$10 less, but I did get it with rewards points. I guess the Love Live license wasnāt cheap, because I think this is their most expensive game yet. So, if you want a fun, cool, -simple- metroidvania, Iād recommend it on sale.
That all said, I hardly knew shit about Love Live or Yohane before playing but I liked the characters so I think Iāll watch the show.
Persona 3 portable is pretty good besides taturis, which canāt wait for the qof features that will come with P3 reloaded so can i go down a level to grind golden chest more quickly and easier.
I wish i played the Phoenix wright games a lot sooner because its definitely one of the best games i ever played.
Persona 5 tactics is alright, i didnāt mind the gameplay or the look of the game. For anyone whoās attempting to 1000 gs the game it requires 2 play throughs of the game to complete the compendium.
Been busy with life in general lately and mostly been playing live service games like Halo and Overwatch in my free time. Now that I have more free time Iāve umped back into the achievement game so hereās a quick recap of my recent completions!
Completion #89: Frog Detective: The Entire Mystery
This was such a fun surprise for me! Wasnāt expecting to enjoy it as much as I did, the climbing was fun and they added new mechanics just as you start to get used to it to keep it interesting. The atmosphere was wonderful too, if you get the chance please give Jusant a chance, 100% worth it in my eyes.
This was a fun, nostalgic completion. Old school FPS with a relatively easy completion, no need to hunt down all the secrets or nothing, just an nice and easy complete the levels on any difficulty.
This is a special completion for me, Iām a huge Monster Hunter fan and Iām so happy to see the series on Xbox and it seems likely to continue to stay a multiplatform series moving froward! Monster Hunter does have a sizeable learning curve, but Rise is arguable the easiest to get into for anyone new or returning to the series. Super easy to pick up and play in both quick spurts or longer play sessions. Combat is fun and fluid and most of the monsters are a blast to hunt. Honestly I could go on and on talking about the game but Iāll spare you all from what could easily become a shorty novel . If youāre remotely interested in trying out the game I highly recommend it!
Crown hunting is way easier in Rise, World dropped the rates super low and itās the main reason I havenāt finished it yet. Thereās plenty of quests that give guaranteed crowns and the normal rate for crowns in Master rank is 10% large, 6% small. If i remember correct the rate for world was only 2 or 3% for both small and large.

Man! I really need to get my finger out and play me some Persona games. Busy playing Final Fantasy 7 Remake on my Steam Deck, really enjoying it but missing those sweet sweet achievements.
Regular 2-3% and tempered give 6% for small and 3% for large.
There were a handful of event quest in MHW for around 10-12 monster that raised the crown spawn rate. But of course monster like Seething Bazelgeuse or Blackveil Vaal Hazak were not included.
Decided to grab both DLC packs for Powerwash Simulator and it was fun. Enjoyed seeing and washing iconic things and locations from both Spongbob and Back to the Future, wild combo if you ask me , but enjoyable nonetheless.
Bought this on sale a few days ago and had a blast with it honestly. Just dumb, stupid Duke Nukem shenanigans with a pretty easy but fun completion to boot. Itās still on sale currently for $1.99 US and for that price I say itās worth it for sure.
Man oh man did I love Ghostwire! Went in pretty blind back when it launched in Game Pass and I loved every minute of it! It has so much style and character, combat is fun, especially as you upgrade your skills, itās got the prefect vibe of creepy but not going so overboard a non horror fan wouldnāt enjoy it, and boy did the DLC mission set in the school that came with the GP version of the game wow me. It was amazing. The game is great but it does have some areas it could work on, traversal is ok at best, finding some of the collectables is a pain with the very vague will oā the wisp esk locator, and a few enemy types just feel like sponges for no good reason. But all in all itās a great first game in what will hopefully become a series! Oh and the rouge like game mode is pretty fun too, I was only missing the two achievements tied to it to complete that game or else Iād have beat in back when it launched, itās a little grindy to complete 100% and has some RNG involved in getting specific levels to spawn to collect some things but it was fun overall and I loved the sense of progression it gives!
I wasnāt feeling it at first but the more I played it the more it grew on me, the sense of progression as you power up and eventually become god like one shotting everything and trying to speed run the levels was way more addicting then I thought it would be.
right on target. that was my achievement goal for the year. had to shoot down 100 helicopters with a second controller in GRAW for 16 points to make the gamerscore land on #####3. thank the lord for backwards compability
